    3. James Joseph Menard GALVESTON — James Joseph Menard, 68, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2008, at U.T.M.B. Hospital. He was born on January 9, 1940, in Hackberry, Louisiana. He was retired from Tobin & Rooney where he worked for over 43 years. He was a member of the Plaster's Union in Houston. He took prided in his work and was instrumental in the building of many of the structures in Galveston, such as American National Insurance and the Moody Mansion. He was an avid fisherman and his pride and joy was his puppy, "Princess". He was preceded in death by his parents Rena and Anna Menard; brothers Rena Menard, Jr., and Huey Menard. He is survived by his wife Gloria Menard; sons Kearney James Menard and wife April, Joseph Wallace Menard, Gil Garcia, Charles Garcia and Timothy Lawler, Sr; grandchildren Christopher Garcia, Kristen Garcia, Timothy Lawler, Jr. and Charles Garcia, Jr., Pamela D. Menard, Jacob D. Menard and Chrystine D. Menard; brothers Alvin Menard, J.B Menard, Eugene Menard and wife Lynda and Joe Menard and wife Tonya; sisters Irene Gibson and husband Vernon, Cordy Judice, Linda Templet and Mary Moses. Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Niall Nolan officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Menard, Roger Menard, Brad Newell, Lynn Benoit, Timothy Lawler, Sr. and Joseph Menard. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff at U.T.M.B. 7-B and MICU, especially Katrina (Kat) and Marge Trent, for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time. He adored his grandchildren and touched so many lives. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
