    3. Good morning dear friends Well I am feeling better this morning, will take it easy, and won't go outside for a couple of days, but at least I don't feel miserable. Someone ask why I have the shots, and this is the answer: so i don't go blind. Several months ago I noticed my right eye was blurry, I thought maybe my cataracts were getting to what my eye doctor called ripe, but after having my eye examined, they found a blood clot in the vain at the back that carries the blood out of the eye, and as the blood collected in back of the clot, it exploded, left a sort of crater at the back of my eye, the eye filled with blood, and where the crater was, I was blind, big black spots as I looked out of that eye. The injections do two things, there is a lot swelling in that eye, and the injection calms the swelling, which makes my vision better, and also helps the eye repair it self, by growing stints, that now help carry the blood around the blood clot, and out of the eye. But by no means is the eye ever going to be 100 % again, but without these treatments I could go blind, and or get a infection in that eye, and have to have the eye removed. When I first go in the doctors office, first thing they do is have me looking at eye charts, to see haw much I can see, than they dilate my eye, and take x-ray of the inside of my eye to see how much swelling there is, than I get the injection, there rally isn't much pain, they put numbing drops in, than he gives me a small injection that numbs the eye, the only parts that give me any discomfort at all is when he puts some kind of antibacterial on a swab and goes over all the outer edges of my eye before he gives me the injection, like when you get a shot and the rub your arm first with alcohol, waits about ten minutes, than I get the injection, given in the white part of the eye. I don't feel the needle, maybe a little pressure, and at first my eye is numb, so can't feel anything after, but maybe 15 minutes later the feeling starts coming back, than I feel like there's a cinder in my eye, and for the rest of the day, my eye runs, my eye stings, my nose runs and all I can say is I feel miserable, the only thing I can do for the eye is put in Artificial tears, as much as I want or need. I usually take some Tylenol, and maybe about 4 o'clock, I have a big glass of wine !!! That does help some, I also have to give antibiotic drops three days before and three days after the injections, I am to not get in the wind or go any where I could get anything in my eye, for at least three days But today is a better day for me, and we have beautiful weather again, by Saturday we will be in the 80's (sorry Barb) but there is rain and cooler weather on the way, next week. So will enjoy it while I can, there is no wind here. so maybe will go outside and sit in the patio for awhile. I am sorry you all can't have good weather, but Spring is not far off, and then we will all be saying it's so darn HOT !!!! We were coming down the canyon the other day and already there are calf's, many Texas Longhorns, and Brahma cattle at the Diamond bar ranch. Love to all, Sully is Sunny and Beautiful California
