Barbara, Neither Firefox nor Gmail is a "server" (provider). Firefox is a BROWSER and Gmail is a web-based email program. Both are "free"..... A server or provider is the company you pay to allow you to connect to the internet. Don't depend on anyone but yourself to see that your machine (computer) avoids, insofar as is possible, viru*es, spyware, and malware. There are perfectly adequate FREE security programs you can use without having to pay for them. ONE of each is plenty. Machine may malfunction if you try to run more than one antivir*s program on it at the same time.
