I came back on to see if my son had posted any thing, he flew out of London today, and is on his way home to LAX, I can't wait till he has both is feet on good old American soil. I saw your post Louise, I too have planted potatoes in the past, and it all came to nothing. On top of the ground they flourished, but when it came to the potatoes, they weren't even finger size. We have a lot of clay, which is not bad, if you add a lot of mulch, and work it in good, MAYBE ?? We didn't have much luck with carrots ether. Around August we do get some really hot days, I don't like HOT anymore, my husband and I almost have a toss up, to see who's going out and water the yard. I say to him, more sprinklers, more sprinklers, more sprinklers. I told him I didn't even care if they were on timers, I would go out there and move them where they needed to be, and turn on the water, just so I didn't have to stand in the heat and water. We do try to water before it gets real hot, but some times (a lot of times) time just seems to get away from us !!! I am sorry if some times I get carried away with my posts, it's this old mind of mine, it doesn't know when to just shut up, also I know I sometimes change the subject and than go on and on about something that has nothing to do with the subject I started with, I am old, Jim doesn't let me out much, I don't get the sleep I need, so you see my mind is running on empty all the time. So if I get out of hand, just tell me to shut up !!! I have been trying to write something everyday, that's not always easy being the way I live. I once thought I might tell a tall tale, about running away with the mailman, but thought better, knowing you would all know no man in his right man would want to run away with me (I can't run fast enough), just ask my husband !!! Well, now that I need to make lunch, I'll say see you later alligator, after while crocodile !!! Sully, in still, cloudy California
