Funny...Once when Johnny was a little boy we had a problem with carpenter ants in the house...The kids saw me catch one and I mashed it and dropped it in the wastebasket nearby..The tenderhearted little boy said " Don't break it's little legs !" I said "Oh I didn't break it's legs, I just put him on the floor so he could go home. "Of course that expression has become a normal thing in our house...If we swat a fly or whatever one is sure to say piteously" Don't break it's little legs !
