We had rain, wind, and hail yesterday. No snow this time but it hailed so heavy in some places that it looked like the ground was covered with snow. Not large hail stones, just pea sized. I had a little bit of hail at my house around noon yesterday. Mine was more like rock salt and melted within a few minutes of hitting the ground. It rained just about all day. We had about an hour of sunshine before noon then the rain and wind came. Wind was steady, about 40 mph. Enough to blow the rain sideways. The west side of the valley had a dust storm which turned into a mud storm when it started raining. All of the spring training baseball games were cancelled. Tents were blown down at the annual ostrich festival in Chandler. After the wind died down around 4:00 they were able to put the tents up again and the festival resumed.I was able to get into the back yard this morning to check and empty the rain gauge. It had one inch in it. The ground got a good soaking so I won't have to water anything before the middle of next week. No wind damage here but electricity was out for more than 8,000 customers on the west side due to trees being blown down onto power lines. I went outside a few minutes ago and walked down to the end of my driveway. By the time I got there it had started to sprinkle again. We will probably get more rain today. Sure wish I could export some of it to The Dougster down in Texas. Got to get on my way now. I have an appointment with my barber in twenty minutes and it will take about 10-15 minutes to get there.
