I'm in the same boat as far as not recognizing today's young stars and bands...I think I gave it all up a few years back when Hootie and the Blowfish were popular. They are all just SO generic...voices the same in the singers, interchangeable stars on the screen...All of this is just my opinion, and younger folks may not agree...I remember Cary Grant, a young Sean Connery, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe..etc. Wish I had kept my huge scrapbook on Marilyn...Sigh... Hubby is like yours...doesn't know one flower from another or what area they need to be planted in. His most maddening statement 'Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained' when I tell him what needs full sun to grow and he insists on planting it in the shade.
