We went a little wild on our Grandsons birthday...and opened up a case of MRE's I had gotten for hard times....Was afraid they were getting outdated...I am glad I'm not in the military, eating these every day, but they had some weird and strange items in there...Dried cranberries, jerky, a huge brownie, pop tarts, you name it ! John is now 22 years young, and interested in cooking, so thus new food...He's going to take the leftover packs for his lunch at work, and I bet he'll be the talk of the cafeteria..I loved the tiny bottles of hot sauce in each pack...Theres a bag with chemicals in it and a little water turns it into a dandy food warmer...Now to see if I can find another case of them...New regs. makes it hard to buy.. Instead of a cake we had gourmet cupcakes from uptown, with a pecan pie on the side..His fave...I gave him a Ravioli maker, a cantaloupe, family sized bag of Doritos, some cook books, and bought him a year's fishing license...etc. Rather odd choices, but things he likes, and he was a happy camper....Later on we watched that movie..The life of Pi, or whatever it is called... Ol Buzz stayed over and we shared a bed...Just wish he hadn't sharpened his knees and elbows before bed time!
