    3. Where is everyone ????? I went into our archives, compared to other years, we are down to almost nothing, if we don't start posting some memories, this is going to go the way of some other web pages, GONE, GONE, GONE. We always got Wish Books (Christmas catalogs, JC Penneys, and Sears had lots of toys in them) my children use to just wait for them, my daughter use to circle what ever she wanted (half the book). I use to hide them, and bring them out when I needed to distract them for some reason. Oh, they did have lots of fun with those catalogs, it was about this time too. that Saturday morning Cartoons were really going strong, and the advertisements of all the TOY'S coming out around Christmas. I always said they made the most boring toys look like fun, the children in the adds looked so happy playing with them !!! I also got a lots of ideas from those books, I had three babies in four and half years, so didn't like to take them shopping with me, except maybe the grocery store. It was much more convenient to shop in the catalogs, and my husband would pick them up at the store for me. I now also like to shop in catalogs, came a full circle didn't I .Oh those were the days, what ever I bought my children, they liked, no I pods, no computer games, no cell phones,. I was talking to my granddaughter the other day I was telling her we were at the Colorado river at our mobile trailer, and her mother and two of her friends went down to use the pay telephone, she said where was your cell phone ??? I told her there weren't any cell telephones, I think she thinks these were the dark ages !!!!! Have to run, Sully in California

    3. When we were small, and paper dolls were all the rage, my sisters and I cut the people, clothes and accessories out of the catalogs. We had other paper dolls, too, but this was a fun activity, too. 3. I don't know do the girls do paper dolls any more. I know there are the barbi dolls that they dress, but not sure about paper dolls. I guess I am behind times. 3. This was in the 1940's, Louise. Prior to Barbie Dolls. There are paper dolls to be had now, but do not think they are played with as much as we did.
