Ah yes, Jacks! When I was in the 5th & 6th grades I played jacks with the girls during recess. I just looked at it as an exercise in hand/eye coordination. It helped me when we played ball during the lunch hour. I don't remember playing football in grammar school until I was in junior high. Then we played the sport that was in season during our lunch hour. We had a physical education class. During that period we played volleyball and soccer. I never liked soccer. Too rough!. I liked volleyball. I played at the net a lot because of my height. I was 5' 10" tall. I became a reasonably good shot blocker and spiker. Must have been a carryover from when I played jacks.
