When I was kid..in the 40's, making your own chenille bedspread was all the go...My Aunt Zula made one, and she used a snuff glass to make circles all over a piece of muslin, I guess it was....Then she did that candle wicking stitch around the circles..Can't remember if she made any fancy designs or embroidery or not...Imagine she used it till the day she died....I have seen many designs on them...Peacocks, etc...Have owned a couple myself...Some of them are highly collectible now...And I have seen them cut up into stuffed toys, etc... Hobnail milkglass, reminds me of Chenille, with the little bumps all over it, but of course, chenilee was soft and cuddly, and hobnail is hard. Can't sleep. Drinking warm milk. Maybe that will help.
