The trouble, if course, is knowing where to start, and how to bypass the sales blurb and get straight to the useful info. But here's a good but not well known entry point. Choose the product you need help with, and the specific version of Windows if relevant, and you'll find a friendly menu of common problems and solutions. I tried this site to see if I had any problems that were slowing the computer down. I went to the automatic fix and Microsoft said they did not find any problems with my computer so there was nothing to fix.
