When my husband and I first got married, we rented a house fully furnished. We had a full size bed, the mattress was so soft, when we were in bed together, we both rolled together in the middle of the bed, and the mattress all most swallowed us up, both our feet stuck off the bottom of bed. I hated that bed, when we moved to another rented house, we bought furniture, the bed room furniture was new, we bought a extra long full size mattress. (firm) But my husband is 6' 2" tall, and I am 5' 7 1/2" tall, and the bed was to short for my husband, and if I really stretched out, my feet were off the bottom of the bed. When we bought our home, we bought a king size bed, it was a good buy too, because in any given night, our three small children would climb in with us, they had bad dreams, or they heard a noise, or they were lonely, or they just wanted mommy and daddy. We kept that bed till about 1990, I wanted to get a overstuffed chair to put next to my bed, so I could watch TV or videos in my room, (while my adult children and their friends could watch what ever ? on the big TV in the living room) So to make more room for my chair, we got a Queen size bed, I liked that bed more, paid less for sheets, was easier to make, and the children no longer got in bed with us ( well sometimes my daughter came and crawled in bed with me, after her father left for work) We have gotten new queen mattress's, but have stayed with the Queen size bed. We sleep together, I love it in the winter, he's always warm, and I am always cold, especially my feet. I don't sleep good without him, sometimes he stays up and watches movies, but I don't sleep good till he comes to bed. We sleep like two spoons, he turns, I turn, as soon as he gets up and out of bed, it gets cold in there, I have to turn my electric blanket on. I just can't sleep good till he is in bed with me !!! Oh, and by the way, we have a Queen size bed with a canopy on top, he hates to admit this to anyone, I keep saying King Charles slept in a canopy bed, he didn't seem to be ashamed of it !!!!
