Jeannie, Gift cards here in Massachsetts are good for 7 years, it is a law. I just used one that was 4 years old and was in a handbag I had not used since 2009! I think maybe different states have different laws or rules. I sure am thankful---I got things I most likely would not buy myself if I had to put out money for! My HP printer has very expensive ink cartridges-aand it gives a warning "ink is low" when it is not and can be used for several more months-I have no use for Hewlett Packard products-I have fought with them over laptop under insurance etc. and they were SOB's---went on and on-finally got a man in Ohio that spoke English and he got it aall straightened out in three days! I have a computer guru who says Canon makes the best printers and the cartridges are less expensive than others. So I am researching before I buy! I also had cartridges refilled at both "INK" and Walgreens-some did not work at all, others made a mess of too much ink--new are worth it for genealogy or good recipes etc. Helen
Helen, Yes, different states have different laws, but in MA if the issue date and expiration date [7 years] are not are not printed on the certificate then they are good forever.
