Good Morning friends I woke up this morning, turned on our TV, to watch the morning news, and all I saw was smoke and fire. There's a wildfire burning in the town of Glendora, it's in the foothills of the San Gabriel mountains. We have been under a RED FLAG WARNING for about five days now (Red Flag means dry conditions, and lots of wind) two of a fires favorite conditions. They have detained three people, the fire started on a hiking trail. Some homes have been destroyed by the fire, and many more are in danger, there was a mandatory evacuation for all residents up in that area. Some people stayed to protect their homes and property, because the firemen can't be everywhere, and if their home was in a area not close to other homes, the firemen usually are on streets where there lots of homes, they stay where they can fight the most homes close to a fire and do the most good. They are leery of dead end streets, they want at least two ways out of a area, they really like to have three ways out of a area that is on fire. They have helicopters, and Super Scoopers ( large airplane) dropping fire retardant and water from the air on this fire, for about two hours now. We went out side to the front of our house, you can smell smoke, and we could see the black smoke from the wild fire. also ash from the fire is falling everywhere. Very scary, we are not really close to the fire, and we live in a mostly residential district, we do live under some foothills, but there are about six blocks of homes between us and the foothills. But I do feel a little scared, every time these wild fires break out, I do feel all the (FIRE BUGS) are out there starting as many fires as they can !!! It is so sad seeing these people lose their cherished homes and everything in them, Some home owners were at work when the fire started, and are worried about their pets, not to mention all their legal papers, and family photos. It's a sad, sad day, for all these people, keep them in your prayers, Please !!! Sully, in dry and windy California
