happened to me at the bank. Actually it was not funny. Let me explain. Sherry had remarkable foresight. She left me all of her passwords and PIN numbers for everything. Almost! We have a bank account at a credit union, actually two of them. One was our personal account and one, she designated a "The ranch" account. Out of this one she paid incidential ranch expenses, taxes, etc. The problem is that we never put my name on the account. Often talked about it but....<sigh> Fortunately, Sherry gave me Power of Attorney (POA) in her will which has been helpful. What I didn't know is that when a person passes, the POA is dead in the water. The bank could care less if I was the designated POA or not. I am slowly getting this problem resolved but it ain't easy. I write this as a word of caution to everyone to NOT let little things slide... They can come back and bite ya!! The Dougster
