It seems I heard about this but just not sure. I think that is just great. They put their life on the line every day like the officers do and go in figuring they are going to get the guy no matter what he has in his hand. They are so loyal to their partner. They should have the same thing the officer would have for death. I would cry over that one I think. It is so sad loosing a dog any way. We have the cocker spaniel aka (black grandchild) Cleo buried among the rose bushes. She has rocks around her grave and in the summer I keep a fern on it. Also potted fake flowers. She knew the word grandma because if they even talked about grandma she would get all excited. she knew she had fun here and we were around all the time, where they both work. She was just such a mellow and loyal dog, really a scardey cat when it came to other dogs. She was so funny one time when I kept her and I walked down the road to get the mail. Had her on her leash. She was fine until we got to where other dogs were across a fence. She got on the other side of me away from them. stayed right with my leg, not ahead or behind. Walking along with her nose in the air, I don't see you. Just loved her. Now they have a lab and something else mixed that is a big dog. She is ok, but she is very outgoing. Of course alot bigger than Cleo was. But her husband wanted another dog, Carol wasn't ready yet and he wanted a big dog. Now he is kind of second thinking it. She is making him go with her for walks so he can handle her. They can only do it on the weekend because they both work early. She makes him go out and play with her. I told her good for you. But I said no more dog sitting. After my little Cleo that was enough. Couldn't handle another one dying even though hers was old age.
