I am not use to the time change ether, I slept in till after 8:00 O'clock this morning, woke up a little groggy. I think I remember when we didn't get day light saving till sometime in April, or am I wrong ??? I appreciate the daylight in the evenings more in the summer than now, but maybe the people who work, like it now ??? We have a little overcast this morning, and it's a little cooler than yesterday, but we have to do some shopping today, so that's all right with me. Just got the flyer ad for Lowe's in this mornings paper, all kinds of good plants and things for the yard, I need some lights out in the garden, maybe the solar ones. Tried to get my husband to buy some clear small outdoor Christmas lights last December, thought they would look good up in a few of our smaller trees, in the back garden, but he nixed that, he said" (who would climb up in the tree and change the bulbs when they burned out)" I guess he's right, but would loved to have had a few twinkle lights out in a few trees, they would be fun and nice to watch till they died !!! I am always thinking of things to do that make no sense to my husband, I just like things to be fanciful sometimes, and I am thinking those clear Christmas light are so cheap, we could just throw them out when they got bad !!!! I have all kinds of thoughts for the garden, my husband thinks are stupid, I would love one of those big globes in the garden, his favorite saying to me is "YOU DON'T NEED THAT" I know I don't need that, but I want it, and it's my money too !!! Before he retired, he didn't care what I did to the garden, to the house, or where I went, except maybe date other men, as long as the house was fairly clean, a hot meal was on the table when he got home, and he had clean clothes for work the next day !!! I also love garden ART, small statues of cats or other animals, I have several planting pots, one shaped like a frog, a chicken, and a turtle. One of my children bought me a big planting pot that looks like a Spring basket, it's heavy, but looks so good with Ivy geraniums in it. I sometimes think my husband has lost all his dreams, he never sings in the shower anymore (I miss that) he doesn't laugh very much anymore ether. That was one of the first things that attracted me to him, he had a great laugh, and spent a lot of time making me laugh. But I will tell you this I have $350.00 in Birthday money saved, and in the next month or two, I am going to the plant Nursery and buy what ever strikes my fancy !!! I'll take our Explorer, and fill the back of it with all kinds of flowers and plants I want !!! I have spring fever really bad, and I feel it won't be going away anytime sooooooon !!!!! Yes, I agree - the time change is weird. Why don't they just leave the clock alone. I read an article a while ago that said the reason for it is always said to be that the farmers wanted it. However, they discovered that is not true at all - in fact just the opposite! Also, as far as energy savings is concerned, it doesn't do anything either. I think there are some states that don't do it - Arizona maybe? I can't believe you are talking about plants. We won't be able to plant outside for a while yet. We still have snow on the ground here, but of course not as much as Grace I'm sure. Two years ago, I planted potatoes. Last year I never got to it, so hopefully I'll be able to do some this year. Our garden fence needs to be replaced on one side, so no planting until that's done, otherwise I'll just be feeding the local wildlife. We had two dead opossums here in the last 2 weeks. One in the garage that my husband apparently hit with the car and didn't know it, then we found another dead one in the yard two days ago - it didn't look injured - just dead. I gave my father some artichoke plants 2 years ago. First year they had 2 artichokes. Last year, none. But he called the other night to tell me they were sending up shoots, so maybe something will grow this year. Artichokes really don't grow here in New England, so it's kind of a novelty. I'll have to see if I can find some for myself this year. I managed to keep one plant each of rosemary & oregano over the winter inside, so they will be happy when I can move them out.
