And remember those big zucchini's we used to give away? Haven't seen a decent size zucchini in about 3 years. Even the tomatoes from the farm stand were lousy. Although, I can't ever seem to find great tomatoes now. Maybe it's me, but I really used to look forward to some great tomatoes in the summer, but now they just don't seem to taste the way they used to. I don't have a problem finding medium or even large zucchini, but I would rather have small ones. I grow them once in a while, but not every year. One year my grandfather had this giant zucchini in his garden - almost as big as a baseball bat. I laugh every time I think of it. I never saw one that big before or since. We made a lot of zucchini bread out of it. I make low carb lasagna using thin slices of zucchini instead of pasta. Lots better health-wise and you don't even notice the change. Takes more zucchini's with the small ones, but still works. Just use the regular lasagna recipe you like, and change the pasta to think zucchini slices (cut length-wise). Grace, can you find out how she does get good crops. George, critized me all last summer because of the poor crops I got.
