Good morning friends It's been one of those nights, it was hard to fall asleep, and than my husband didn't come to bed till about 2:30 AM this morning, after eating a midnight snack, watching late night TV. He than woke me up coming into our room, I don't know what he was doing but made a lot of noise, than got in bed, put his cold legs and feet on me !!! So here I am awake, playing farm town on face book, and reading my mail, and writing some friends and you guy. Yesterday was one of those days, that people flocked to California at the turn of the century, clear blue sky, about 75 degrees, Just beautiful, but the weather is turning, we are going to have drizzle over the weekend, and it will get cooler. So enjoyed the day yesterday, sat in the garden and did a little day-dreaming, watched the butterflies, lots of bees are out, and there was this one bird up on a wire , looked a little like a hawk, he was small, but turned his head like a Hawk does. When they built our home in and around 1960's, they put all Telephone, and Electric wires in the back yards, so the poles run between our yard and the house in back, and that's where the birds like to sit, and the Squirrels run up and down, they jump into our trees, especially if we have any fruit in them, they make a big racket, sounds like they are fighting !!! Our yard at one time was a playground for our children, Swing set, sand box, and a big circle of cement for so they could ride their bicycles and other toys with wheels, my husband built our boys a tree house, in a big tree out back, they had a wooden box on a big rope, they would ask me to put their lunch in the box, than pull it up into their tree house, they had so much fun in that old tree. My husband was always building something for his children, he built his daughter a big Pipe Bar, just like the one they had at school, he went up to the school ground and measured it, got the same size pipe, and put one in the back yard for her, she spent hours out there spinning around on that bar, she was envied by all the other little girls in the neighborhood, some times we had five or six girls over here playing on that bar !! Our back yard is so quiet now, except for the birds and the Squirrels, and maybe when my husband mows the grass, we have had a couple of nice parties the last year or two, it's the perfect place for a party, lots of room for tables and chairs, and my garden right there to enjoy. I always get compliments on my garden, it's a lot of work, but I enjoy it so much, it's worth all the work. I am about to get to work, go through and thin it out, trim back some of the shrubs, pull any weeds, and make some places to plant new plants, and put in lots of flowers.
