I know this is kind of strange, but on my hummingbird feeder there's a couple of wild cannaries that keep coming and eating out of it. They sit there and drink, then fly away. been seeing for three days now. Louise
That is so nice-bet they are pretty-funny they like nectar instead of seeds-but birds are funny! We had two parakeets here eating bird seed-they had to have escaped from one of the condo's because the winters here are way too cold for them to live! Helen
Never had that happen. But my finches try to do it now and then. They don't have much luck. I don't know about your hummingbird feeder Louise but, I have had a wicker basket that's shaped like a watering can hung high on my house just under an overhang that I have enjoyed watching birds nest in for at least 7 years. Just plain little sparrows but fun. This year they were besieged by a larger bird looking for eggs and last week they were finally left alone to rebuild. Well, Sunday a nearly bald squirrel, yes I said BALD, moved in and brought one of her babies whom I believe she is trying to ween and these poor sparrows have had to go elsewhere. I am just so mad. I saw the bald squirrel last Fall and I was sure she would die over the winter cause it gets mighty cold here in Michigan but she survived and moved into that nest I guess cause it is much warmer after the birds rebuilt it so many times. Oh well, guess I better just let nature take it's course.
