Oh, Doug, you are so funny! You really do have a way with words. I hope your emails are all part of a journal you keep them in. What a legacy for your decendants! jerrian -----Original Message----- From: memory-lane-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:memory-lane-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Doug Crim Sent: Wednesday, February 16, 2011 4:34 PM To: an-internet-family Subject: [ML] A quiet day at the ranch... It's been cloudy most of the day but still quiet warm.. as planned, I drove the the ranch quite early this morning... had packed my truck with a bunch of tools and "stuff" to unload into the shop and then planned to spend the day with my tractor... OY! Did I spend the day with my tractor..weekend before last, I noticed the left front tire was a tad low so I drug out my compressor and checked the air in all four tires.. feeling quite proud of myself, I came home a happy camper.... Imagine my surprise this morning when I discovered a flat tire on my tractor.. no, not the one that was low... Grrrr Now, I gotta tell ya, this old fat man is in no condition to be changing tractor tires but unfortunately, there was no one else around to do it for me... I had driven it enough to have broken the seal around the rim. The tires had a bunch of goop inside to keep them from going flat... obviously the goop didn't work... not only did it not work but made a Holy mess.. slick, slimy black goop covered everything ... by the time I got the tire off and loaded in my truck, I was also covered in the *&&^%))_# mess.... To make a long story short, I took the tire to town and had it fixed... by the time I got back home and got the tire back on, I was tired as all get out...wore plumb out! I popped a couple of naproxen sodium ( generic Alieve) and drove into Lometa for lunch... Luckily, Lometa is a small (tiny) town where they are accustomed to seeing hard working men sit down in the cafe for lunch. I looked like hell and felt even worse. By the time I had lunch and got back to the ranch, the pain meds had kicked in and I did get to spend some quality time on the tractor but somehow, the thrill was gone... At the moment, I am back home and after I take two more pain meds, I'm taking a shower and sit ... probably for the rest of the day. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. lol The Dougster :-)* http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~mbousman1/memory.htm ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MEMORY-LANE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
