    1. Re: [ML] Spring's about to get 'ice winders'.....
    2. Such a nice letter! I'm sorry things didn't go in your favor re the homestead...Life is hard enough on us if we only have happy memories...When we've been treated badly it's hard to bear without terribly bitter feelings...I bet that homestead was a joy to behold...and am glad you have memories of it, and probably pictures too... I can't remember if I explained the ''glass winder' remark...My mountain born Mother in law was visiting and I told her I heard the Spring peepers over on the pond that 's in the nearby woods...It was supposed to turn cold later on and she said " They'll be looking through glass winders' before long..."{ ice } How I miss that dear lady. I fear disease is getting at Aunt Adeles pink hyacinths...few are growing this year. I think I'll start digging on the scanty side and very carefully keep digging till I get to live bulbs..see what's going on...I'd rather lose most any plant out there than those flowers whose ancestors have been blooming every Spring since about 1915 or so..I never met Adele, as she died when she was about 24 of Pellagra..which we now know is a vitamin deficiency....She was closest in age to my Mama. and they helped get each other ready each morning for school when youngsters....taking turns brushing and braiding each other hair and tying their belts..Remember when all little girls dresses had either belts that tied in the back or a loose ribbon belt ? ..Jeannie T ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Sun, 20 Feb 2011 13:03:25 -0600 "samuels" <dwsbgs@centurytel.net> writes: > Jeanie how gorgeous and wonderful.
