    3. Mentioning little girls belts brought back a memory. For Easter one year, I made my daughter a nice dress and got my boys all decked out to. There was a family that had two girls, around 8 and 10. I knew their parents couldn't afford to get them new Easter dresses so I proceeded to make them each a dress, nothing fancy but looked nice. For the younger girls belt for her dress, I bought a pretty ribbon that matched the dress. They were so pleased to get their dresses. About a month or so later, she came to me at church and said she had lost her 'belt" and could I get her another one. I wondered if I would have to keep supplying belts until she outgrew the dress but I bought her another belt and didn't say anything. I lost contact with that family for years, but later the older girl found us. She had married and had 3 little girls of her own and the younger girl had joined the Navy. They had their faults but they turned out pretty good, coming from the home they were in.Emma > To: dwsbgs@centurytel.net; memory-lane@rootsweb.com > Date: Sun, 20 Feb 2011 23:16:43 -0600 > From: askgranny@juno.com > Subject: Re: [ML] Spring's about to get 'ice winders'..... > ....She was closest in age to my Mama. and > they helped get each other ready each morning for school when > youngsters....taking turns brushing and braiding each other hair and > tying their belts..Remember when all little girls dresses had either > belts that tied in the back or a loose ribbon belt ? ..Jeannie T > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ri
