1. Re: [ML] Fw: It's about poke sallet time
2. Yes, Poke salat grows tall and wide, and the old hollow , silvery dead stalks are the best way to find it growing wild in the Spring...I planted a row in my garden, but birds pooped the purple berries on my laundry lines and I got rid of the plants. I just gather it from the wild now days...When fixed right it tastes like spinach but is a darn sight cheaper ..Jeannie T ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Tue, 8 Mar 2011 09:25:26 -0500 CAROL KUNZ <carol.r.kunz@gmail.com> writes: > Jeannie T,> Does/can your poke grow to a stalk 8" across and 6 to 8 ft. high? I have never eaten it, my dad started to grow it in his old neighborhood (Detroit) years and years ago from seed he brought from down south somewhere and he taught a lot of the black folks how to eat it. ____________________________________________________________ Gov't Urges Homeowners to Refinance If you owe under $729k you probably qualify for Gov't Refi Programs http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL3141/4d771af1184fd3cb4m06duc
