I am with you doug, don't want to make that there snake mad, or meaner than he already is. A three foot board isn't long enough for me, I need a good hoe, or shovel, than just chop his head off. I have seen a lot rattlers in my time, out in the desert and also mountain rattlers. Once saw what they call a green Mojave, the most poisonous rattler out here in the south west , two kinds of poison. Once I was on at a girl scouts campout, a ratter fell out of the rocks, I sat on the table and watched where that guy went, the other gal went to get a ranger. I told him where it was at, he had a pole with a rope on the end, and gunnysack, the snake when in a crack of a rock, he spent a lot of time, but he got him. I told all our girls [ages 13 -15 ] that was a good reason to keep their tents zipped up at all times. That was a little to close for me, I had about 20 girls I was responsible for, didn't want anyone bit buy a snake, while they were in my care. I HATE SNAKES , Sully
I HATE SNAKES TO. I was watching a show where a woman let her snakes roam around her trailer and eventually one of them bite her. The man that was talking on the program said that snakes will give you a warning bite first. Never knew that. And don't believe him. No such thing. A snake would not live very long of if gave a warning bite. Sure harmless one don't kill but yes they can and do bite/strike. And don't believe the wivestale that babies are not poison, there is just not enough venom to create big problem. Some area snake of the same genesis are more and less poisonious.Missouri timber rattlers seem to be losing strength. But don't rely on it, wear the boots and be cautious. We have a hill not too far away where for reasons unknown they congregate. And depending on the person it may be hamburger hill or snakehill both the same less accessible place. AND it is not good mushroom country. I think it once may have been but eroded away. I do know the horses sure don't like the area. Bud.
