Ever had a week like that? We had ours last week.... Let me start at the beginning. Weekend before last, June 4th, my first born granddaughter married... it was a beautiful wedding and reception but Geez, it was hot! (an outside wedding) ... both Sherry and I were exhausted from the trip, the ceremony, etc.. arrived home on Sunday totally exhausted. On Monday, a cousin of Sherry's that had been suffering the ravages of cancer passed away. 55 years old! On Tuesday we had to make another trip to MD Anderson hospital in Houston, always a joy. Took care of business and left Houston at 4 PM... No, that's not right. We left the hospital at 4PM... by the time we got out of Houston, it was 5 PM. Houston traffic is always so lovely.. We arived back home about 10:30 PM ... again, completely exhausted. Somewhere in this story I must tell that I have an injured shoulder. Possibly a torn rotator cuff. Left arm is in a sling. UGH! On Thursday, we rested as much as possible but had to prepare for company coming for the funeral. Neither of us were in the mood for such nonsense, but we did. Company is always nice but Lordy, we were still tired. Friday morning while preparing for the funeral, we discover that we have a major leak in the hot water line and had to shut off the water supply to the water heater... totally "uncool"... pun intended... The Dougster has a bright idea... lets turn on the water heater at the little house the hunters use... brilliant plan except there is only one bathroom.... sooooooooo, one by one, people drive down to the little house (about 100-yards) shower and return... next in line then does the same thing. Have I said "OY" yet? Late Saturday, the company finally leaves. Sunday comes and we are still so tired we can hardly move but it's time to investigate the water leak. Imagine this... an old, old house that has been remodeled several times... crawl space of about six-inches... we have absolutely no idea where the leak is...since most of the water lines are underneath the bathroom, Sherry began ripping up the vinyl floor covering (was planning on replacing that anyhow)... being practically useless with one arm, I suggested we call a plumber Monday morning.... It is Monday and a plumber has been called... we are waiting... Hope ya'all have a great week! The Dougster :-)*
