What a week!! So sorry for your loss. So glad my house sits nearly three feet off the ground. Sure makes it easy to work under. Hope all goes well. I have been cleaning up from flooding. We had 11 inches of rain in one day. Sure wish I could send it to you. Water was nearly two foot deep around my house. Moving so fast it left rocks the size of bowling balls in my yard. When we put a new front porch (14' x 60') on several years ago, we put down a weed barrier and six inches of rock. Now most of the rock is gone. The flooding washed it out. The rock is now in the creek. My driveway is a mess. My "red dirt" road is now a dry creek. Sure glad I drive a truck. Cars can't get down here. I live about 30 miles southwest of Joplin, MO. The storms that ravaged Joplin also left a mess where I live. It has caused a bad impact on the entire area. I don't know anyone that hasn't been impacted by the F5 storm. The damage in Joplin is beyond description. Even FEMA people are shocked at the damage. The death toll continues to climb. Last report was 153 deaths. Many more still in hospitals. Experts are studying why the death toll was so low. The storm hit a our main shopping district and medical district during peak shopping hours. Storm shelter sales are up 100 percent. But, life goes on. Our minds and souls are healing.
