Viola, I don't know what our record cold or snow fall is but suffice it to say, "Vermonters are no stranger to either one." And we are getting a bit more than our fair share this time 'round. Today while the snow removal person was shoveling my street. there were some neighborhood children standing and watching him .....I noticed that the Recycle was standing right side up.... but in the middle of the driveway. I opened my front door and said "Thank You" They said they had returned it to the upright position. and I told them about falling trying to get it to the street. With that they grabbed hold of the bin and carried it to the street........and straightened out the twisted sideways lid. I thanked them again. The Bin is at the wrong side of the driveway (it is next to the post box) but I wasn't about to criticize where it was. So my two weeks of recycle will be picked up tomorrow ----if they make it. I know Elaine and i were both from cold weather state's. MN + WI. How many other lister's know what cold + snow is really like? Now i mean like over 50 inche's of snow. I can also remember it was ca 51 below zero in winter of 1965 in Becker County, MN. Our vehicle was the only one in a three mile distance that would start. It turned out that after our 1957 tornado our car was the only one that would start. A neighbor man broke his leg and my hubby was taking him to the hospital. They got ca 6 blocks away when there was a extra large tree across the road and no way to get thru any other way. So he helped a man on the other side of the tree get his car started. Then they got the injured man around the tree and on to the hospital. Thank God for people. But i also thank God we do not have Earth Quake's here. That would also do me in!! When we were in Sunnyvalle, CA. in the 80's there was a quake and 40 after shock's and i said to my man let's go home and we left some odd hour's later. I have more fear's then any person i know of or heard of. Also know running from them will not save me but in my mind the closer i get to home the safer i feel. Viola,
Hi Bud, Yes it is summertime here & very warm.We have not had any aftershocks since 31st January. We have had 4000+ since Sept 4. Most of the later ones have been itsy bitsy ones with a few bigger ones.So many folk have been affected by them & it will take years for "things" to get back to normal. New Zealand is such a beautiful country regards Helen McNamara ________________________________ From: samuels <dwsbgs@centurytel.net> To: memory-lane@rootsweb.com Sent: Wed, 2 February, 2011 11:45:22 AM Subject: Re: [ML] Fw: Oh baby it's cold outside.... Every Red Blooded American should jump in line to support the Green Bay Packers! The Packers defeated the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon thus earning them the opportunity to go to the Super Bowl. By doing so, they saved the Hard-Working, Red Blooded, Taxpaying Americans literally several million dollars of tax money. How you say? Simple... we were told that if the Chicago Bears had won that President Obama (and probably his family) would be attending the Super Bowl to cheer on his hometown team. Since the Bears lost...the President won't be attending. The money saved from not using Air Force 1, the limousines, all the additional security, and let's not forget Michelle Obama's entourage, is literally several million dollars! Therefore every American should cheer on the Green Bay Packers at the Super Bowl to show them our gratitude. With that said...let's circulate this email to everyone we know so they can understand why they should cheer for America's team...the Green Bay Packers!

If I get this right; son says when we change programs( and MS said we had to) our physical machine have both the old and the new memory and (so Does our ISP) and on the whim of the day, the computer may feed us old style or new, thus printer etc stutters or won't work . reboots puts it in a new Mode( slot). Bud.

Nebraska daughter said last evening-36, she was still shivering from a trip outside to turn the car around so it was headed outward for this morning's even chillier start to work. Know who got elected to open the store at 6:30AM Bud in not so cold Missouri and right here it is white out but NOT over five inches and it is afternoon.
Mad Hatter, that is what mine does now. Prints when it feels like it . Sometimes I want to throw it out. My granddaughter was in a Alice in Wonderland play and I got a copy of the program of the program. On the bottom of the last page it says: Mike ???????? as the MAD HATTER. It made me smile because it made me think about you. Barb, Maybe the darn thing is trying to tell me something. I am willing to listen! Ha! I just hope it doesn't decide to quit when I am in the middle of doing someone's income tax. I have a few clients whose taxes include several forms in addition to the 1040. I just picked up a five pound envelope from one of them. After I get it sorted out and see what's in there I can probably reduce it to two or three pounds. He puts more stuff in there every year than I really need. A lot of duplications. Better too much than not enough. Such is life!
