You all need a Jack Russell. Best little varmit dog in the world. Nothing is safe from their harrasment. I have had one for 6 or 7 years. I never see any kind of varmit any more. She even torments birds. They are great friends also. Small but very brave. I've been wanting to get a Jack Russell or other small dog for a long time now, but hubby says it costs as much to take a dog or cat to the vet as it does for a human to go to a Dr. , so he's put his foot down...I see an ad for a group that helps Seniors with vet bills, pet food, meds...Actually, I think a small dog would be a lot of company for HIM as he walks about the yard and piddles in the garden...Before my little 4 1/2 pound Chihuahua passed on to dog Heaven, he was a great comfort to me when I was outside...If anyone set foot in the yard he went into Doberman mode and alerted me...Since out back yard is almost perfectly private this was a Godsend...That was before Hubby retired...noiw HE is the watchdog! I can't get into nothing....Jeannie T ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Mon, 07 Mar 2011 05:06:27 +0000 "mizylana@gmail.com" writes: > You all need a Jack Russell. Afraid no! don't like them around , Yes. Some of our fears come from bad experiences and strange to me even knowing the cause does not reduce, much, the revulsion. I enjoyed this story so much. We never know when we entertain angels. As some of you know this begin March madness and locally that a BIG thing for many. Our local PBS ran Woodens life and remarks. For those who don't know , he is a famous Basketball coach. but more important his life philosophy. Since I have grandsons whose life plans are coaching( after successful careers{dream on"} I do take an interest in coach's attitudes. This man is a great example. Bud.
I'm laughing cry and aching in sympathy all at once. Sherry I'm sure being a woman would have used the board to clobber the snake, no pistol involved. also being a mart woman she would not have crawled around looking for more. What I am wondering how long did you sit before discovering the snake?? I will bet your body heat woke him up. AND when you tell Shelly you may need a new fetchit. Bud.
I got you both beat. I wouldn't have been out there working in the first place. I referred you to the below at Christmas time. It's a wonderful story and I learned that it was available as a book, regular paper, eBook and audiobook formats. I am reading it on my Kindle and I am loving it. If you are interested, I am sure your public library also probably has it on its shelves. Elaine This is a forwarded message Don't miss it. And trust me, Nonni's is extremely good. I buy the Cioccolati which is an almond biscotti dipped in German bittersweet chocolate. It is heavenly. I am actually not telling the truth. OY! I may have to get a job so I can rest... lol Sherry and I came to the ranch Tuesday with a load of lumber to build a chicken coop and to make repairs on the little house the hunters use... Got a good start on the coop until I discovered that I need some ten-foot pieces of lumber. I had it all planned out but in buying lumber for two projects, the plans got altered... Since we stopped working on the coop,, early yesterday we began working on the little house. It ws constructed using shiplap lumber, which ain't easy to find today.. when we did find it we found that it is quite expensive, but that's another story for another time... Of course minutes after we began work, we discovered that we had fogotten a tool that we needed, so Sherry usind the truck to go back to the shop to get what we had forgotten... The Dougster started work. I stood back and decided that first thing I had to remove the shiplap directly beneath the front door.... Soooooo, using an 18-inch pry bar, I sat down on the porch and began hammering and prying.. The piece of lumber came off rather easily. As I patted myself on the back I grabbed the piece of lumber (about 36-inches long) and whadda ya know. Lying just behind the piece of wood ws a rattler!!!!! Probably less that 2-feet away from me.... fortunately, it was early in the day and rather cool. The rattler was moving slow.. in fact, he was not moving at all.... Of course my pistol was back at the main house. The good/bad news is that by the time I got back with my pistol, the snake had moved. The bad part is that I don't have a clue as to where he went. Does that sound like fun or what? Anybody wanna help? lol The Dougster :-)*

Beautiful quilts. Certainly a source of pride and satisfaction for the quilters. My late sisters Ann and Emily were both quilters. Ann belonged to Mountain Top Quilters in Prescott, AZ. Emily never joined a quilting club. She just made quilts at home. They both would have loved to see these quilts.
