I've been VERY concerned, but understood that it might be quite a while before you remembered there were friends around the world worrying about you and no way to get in touch other than on line , finally....The poor people in Japan are now dealing with what you are 'wearing out' and I read their shakeup was 800 times..or was it 8000 times? worse than yours. The mind boggles, right ? 1. [ML] FW: See Mercury at Sunset
    2. ROBERT E PATY
    3. This just in from NASA! Spacecraft Messinger is preparing to enter the orbit of the planet Mercury. Mercury is visible in the western sky at sunset (or a little after). The bright object in the sky is Jupiter. Mercury will be lower and to the right of Jupiter. Over the next three days, Jupiter and Mercury will trade places. That is...Mercury will be the upper object and Jupiter the lower one. Mercury will be dimmer than Jupiter, mainly because it is so much smaller. You might not be able to see Mercury unless you are high up. It will be close to the horizon. Messinger's orbital burn will take place on March 17th. By that date, Mercury should be visible above any rooftops and trees (providing you have clear skies to your West). Sorry but you won't be able to see the orbital entry. NASA doesn't even say you could see it with a backyard telescope. Just one of those things we have to put up with. Click on the link in the message from NASA which takes you to their homepage where you can see a photograph taken yesterday evening in the UK. This will give you a very good idea of where to look. 3. I get enraged at what people do to and with their pets. As a child my brothers brought home or befriended every dog they met. Some times only to find out some belonged to our own neighbors. My mom was a cook for a good sized restaurant so their was a lot of throw aways to keep the dogs fed. But in the mess of dogs were 5 females so new pups always. Finally my mom told all of us i just cannot do it any more. At that time we had 26 dogs. My brother in law was there and he told my mom they could take them out to the dump and do away with .them. But a problem that occurs many times. One white as snow ran and no one saw her. She was my favorite but never let my brothers know because they would probably have blinded her just like Dick and Fritz did to my sister Maries dog. They used a bobby pin and a rubber band. Then all the rest of the dogs were killed but Rusty and nobody could kill him so they watched him follow whitey..So back home they went and mom just smiled. Bout 2 to 3 months later my mom heard some thing in the night. She opened the door and in came Whitey and Rusty course every one heard it but me. Any way Fritz took Rusty to bed with him. 4th of July we went to Detroit Lakes, MN. When we got home there was no rusty and we searched believe me. We finally found him an acre or two away in the hay field in front of our home. So when he had the bad fire there was only one dog and he died like a man. Viola

    1. [ML] 3 yr old Buzz has a green thumb ???
    2. Heres another vintage Buzz tale... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I thought the Martians had landed last night when a 'little green man' rushed at me, talons extended, roaring fiercely.........Oh...It's just Buzzard Bait...AND HE'S PAINTED HIMSELF GREEN ! Arrghhhhhhhhhhhh ! DARK green.....Expensive ENAMEL from the craft store green...........Oh look ! The brown carpet is green ............Oh.......just part of it...and the cut glass cake stand...and and and and.......................Aiiiigghheeee ! He had been playing in the dining room , answering that he was being a good boy when we would call him.........We could hear electronic toys humming, talking...Ahhhhh....just what we needed, a little quiet time to ourselves....The pecan pies are in the oven, black eyed peas , cornbread, and fried potatoes taking care of themselves with the help of the timer....Things don't get much better than that around Buzz..... Hubby's hands no longer sting from the industrial strength cleaner he had to use earlier when Buzz wrote all over our pretty toilet seat...I finished cooking the 'feast ' while Papa slathered a cheerful but respectful Buzz with 'Goop ' hand cleaner { After removing his poopy diaper...also painted.....which was adding insult to injury....} then he put him into a nice hot bath....Which is like throwing Brer Rabbit into a briar patch..... Epilogue: The holes in the toilet seat disappeared..possibly because of cleaner rearranging the plastic ? Most of the green paint came off Buzz AND the carpet, and and and cleaned up pretty well, thanks to Papa's rapidly depleting store of elbow grease.....I think he did all the cleanup because I showed some little hints of murder and mayhem, and he cleverly picked up on that..... Today has been fairly quiet....Maybe I just THINK it's quiet though , since Buzz ran full tilt into the side of my chin as I was turning 'toons' off while 'rassling' him into his clothes so he could go outside.....The kids head is harder than any rock, I swear...After an hour or so my chin hardly hurts at all, and I'm beginning to think I won't have to go to the Chiropractor ..............Maybe..............Jeannie T ____________________________________________________________ $65/Hr Job - 25 Openings Part-Time job ($20-$65/hr). 3. Years ago, our next door neighbor had a coon dog. It bark all day and almost all night to I finally ask them if they could leave him out in the mornings at a later time. My kids window was right above where they would leave him out. Can't remember if they did. They had him tied on a very short lease and didn't care about him. One day, when they were not home, I went over the wall and started petting him. There was a chair out there and I thought that maybe he doesn't want to lay on the cement. I brought the chair forward and he jumped on it and never barked again. Then they did something that was so cruel. They stuck him way in the back of there yard in a tiny cage and he put some kind of netting for him to walk on and all his bodily functions dropped to the ground below. One day when I was in our pool with these kids from next door. The smell was so bad and I said something to the kids about it and they gave him away. Next dog was a springer spaniel, a real beauty. They tied him up to on a very short lease. He just walked and walked around that area and the flies were biting his nose really mad. I told the neighbor about his nose and he gave him a bath and stuck him right back where he was before. Their dog was mated to a friends spring spaniel and she had 9 pups. M. said he didn't want a dog. Well anyway, the dog got loose one day and ran through my newly planted garden and I screamed his name. Next day gone. It seems that some people like having dogs so they can mistreat them. One other goofy neighbor had a rooster that crowed at 5:00 a.m. and a duck. You want security, get a duck. Well, every time that rooster crowed, I dialed their number. I complained to the city and all was gone. 3. It seem many people have no consideration of others, NIMBY, but deaf dumb and blind to anyone else's. Naturally a rooster crow in daylight but it is not natural for a rooster to be in a 80x100 lot., and there are birds that are not crowers. Don't suggest guineas they never shut up even at night. Good on bugs but hard on sleep. Worst PEAFOWL very great watchdogs, if you don't care who they flog or that they tell you a skunk just walked by at 2 am. Also if the moon or car lights blink.
