Hello, It is nice to hear from everyone...I have not been online, very much lately. I have had some health problems and haven't felt like doing much posting. I was in the hospital from Tuesday, March 22, until yesterday March 28. I was on an antibiotic drip for 5 days, then I have to be on it by mouth for 14 days. I am feeling much better. Dear Mad Hatter, Thanks for the re-post from Imogene, it's good to know she is somewhat enjoying life and good to know she will also try to write to the list now and then, she has been missed. We too are allergic to tick bites, and they can itch and carry on for a week or more. What I do is cut a medicated band aid down the center...to make them go further and you only need a little bit...Put it on the tick bite , 'rub it in', and forget about it. When it falls off check for itching and if it still itches put on another Band-Aid...till it's well. NO itching ..in my case. Showers are a definite band aid killer !*grin* Jeannie T ____________________________________________________________ Get Free Email with Video Mail & Video Chat! http://www.juno.com/freeemail?refcd=JUTAGOUT1FREM0210

I read a couple of thick story books a day usually, but haven't found a great one lately, nor one I would like to brag about. I must spend a great deal of time in my recliner, so reading helps ...I read mostly fiction because I just want something to keep my mind busy...I also read some paperback books about the Bible on a regular basis...Have read the Bible itself a few times, especially the new Testament..I gave up on the Old one..too much meanness....I LOVE Julie Garwood books, Diana Gabaldin, and Catherine Cookson....Lets face it...I come from a long line of read a holics...Have heard Mama say she got as hungry for something to read as she did food....I keep a sack of books on hand at all times, so never face THAT particular hunger ! Paperbacks are free at the Library, but must be returned... Right now I sleep a lot out of boredom and the eye must heal more. But between basket ball and motor racing. I am getting a lot of genes. Searching done in spurts. Hi Louise I also have had it with the rain, I am tired of it !!!!! Our yard is one big sponge, the lawn is soggy, the dirt is muddy, I am sure some of our plants have died from root rot. I want to get out in our back yard and do some work, I am tired of watching TV Movies, as I am typing this, my husband is watching one of the Spider-man movies, even just listening to it, it's stupid. The first spiderman movie was tolerable, but all the rest that have come after, are just stupid, and a waste of time watching. I want to go outside and not get wet, I want my cats to go outside and stay there for awhile, I want to see birds in the back yard, I want to feel the sunshine on my face, and maybe even wear shorts, not short shorts, but long shorts. Go bearfoot, have a barbeque, smell just cut grass, and most of all run barefoot through dry grass !!! I want spring, to come into being. I want to go to Lowe's or Armstrong nursery, or Green Hills nursery and buy loads of flowers, to fill all my patio pots. I have about eight nice big patio pots sitting around with dead plants in them, I want loads of flowers, everywhere. I always said I don't like hot, but maybe just a little hot would be nice, for a short time !!!!! Sully, in not so sunny California

Good to see a couple on here. Yes we have had alot of snow in the mountains. Even down towards the valley at times. They are having to let water out of the dams because of more water coming in. So it could get bad. There has been some flooding along the river, but nothing bad so far. They are trying to control the outflows so not to flood people out. So far so good. At least what I have heard. We did have half a day of sunshine yesterday, and some sun today then supposed to be sunny this next week. Sure hope so. I like hunkering down but to much is to much. Then the gas is almost four dollars around here. Is in places and that is just the cheaper kind. So you hate to go any place because of that. But I think there is going to be enough to keep me ocupied around here for some time. Don't think we will ever see filling up for five dollars any more. Long gone. Of course wages weren't as high then either. But when on social sec. it isn't so good. Oh well. There are people alot worse off, so be glad for what we have. Ain't nothing wrong with taking it easy..... I've gotta learn to practice what I preach. Here in the Grate Republic of Texas, it's still bone-dry. Yeah, things are turning green, including the pasture grass. I understand whay the trees are greening up but cannot fathom why the grass is greening. Haven't had measurable rain in weeks.. Dust everywhere! All of the Live Oak trees have dropped their leaves now and are ready to begin spewing the green pollen everywhere. I hate that part of Spring. The repairs to the small house are complete and ready for our hunters to start scraping and painting. The chicken coop is complete with the exception of tweaking here and there. On Friday, we had doctor appointments in Austin, about an hour drive away. On Saturday, we made a return trip for Sherry's daughter's birthday. While in the area, Sherry drug me to a seminar on raising chickens. I confess that was the last thing I wanted to do on Saturday but am reluctant to tell Sherry that it was actually very interesting. Ergo, the tweaking of the new chicken coop. Sherry is still undecided as to what kind of chickens we will end up with. Except for the hard work, I'm staying out of this little enterprise.....We arrived back home late last night. To add to my aggravation, the Sunday paper hasn't come yet. Thus far, I have made two 1/2-mile trips to the front gate... <sigh> One day last week I did get Blanche (my tractor) out to spread the bentonite into the soil in the bottom of the stock tank. That went fairly well but if I had to do it again, I'd use a fertilizer spreader, powered by the tractor PTO, to spread the bentonite. I could have gotten much better distribution, which would be the key to preventing leakage. We live, we learn. <sigh> With this little bit of useless information, I'm signing off to make another 1/2-mile trip to the front gate. I sure enjoy my daily newspaper... The Dougster :-) It's been unusually hot this past week in my little corner of the world, but this morning we have a rather cool North wind with overcast skies. If the sun comes out, I have things to do outside but if it remains cloudy and cool, I'm guessing I'll have an easy day.
