    3. There is an interesting tidbit in the weekly newsletter from Data Doctors concerning a new operating system being developed by MICROSOFT...who else. The working title for this system is Windows 8. You can click on the sixth item, Whats new in Windows 8. There is a short video which is apparently the first in a series of videos to be released over the next year (if I heard correctly) giving a brief look at the new system and how it works. It is apparently going to be a touchscreen system which might render your current monitor unusable. Time will tell! If you are not familiar with Data Doctors and want to know more you can subscribe to the newsletter on their website by scrolling to the bottom of the page and click on "manage subscription". By default, Skype makes it tough to know where to look. You give us 44 seconds, we'll give you a better video chat experience! Here's how you do it! Headwhack of the Week: Twitter's new Photo Sharing Service If you use Twitter to communicate with your Tweeps, then you're sure to love the new features that Twitter is beginning to incorporate into their service. While you've been able to add links to pictures to your Tweets via 3rd party apps for some time, now you can finally use a new feature built right in to do it - and it's "embedded"! Check out this new feature, available right now, here! Geek Speak of the Week: LTE LTE - The primary technology behind 4G - the evolution of 3G networks. Where 3G made mobile data a reality, 4G will make it a much better one. LTE stands for Long Term Evolution. Here is what LTE does/offers: Much faster upload and download speeds than 3G. Under ideal conditions, LTE can easily reach download speeds of over 150 megabits per second, and upload speeds of over 80 megabits per second. More capacity than 3G - an LTE network can support more users in a single area Larger cell size. A single LTE cell tower can cover up to 100km or 62 miles. While that size will be greatly diminished in a heavy urban area, it's still a lot better than 3G. Compatibility - LTE is designed to be compatible with existing standards. Ease of upgrade - Part of the reason it has taken so long to develop LTE is that it is planning forward a lot. The networks are being designed so that implementing upgrades further down the line will be much easier. Security: Leaky Smartphone Apps for iPhone & Android A research firm (ViaForensics) recently found that some of the top downloaded apps put users personal info at risk. Apps from Foursquare, Netflix and LinkedIn along with others often store users sensitive data in unencrypted, readable files on mobile devices. Read on to find out more about Leaky Smartphone Apps... News: What's coming in iOS5 for iPhone, iPad & iPod? This past week the WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference) took place for Apple, and they've got some new tricks up their sleeves and some must have features coming your way soon. See all the latest info about the new Operating System for iDevices after the jump. News: What's coming in Windows 8? Seems like not that long ago, the folks in Redmond unveiled a new Operating System on the world: Windows 7. Well Windows 8 (a temporary name, for now) is in the works and after seeing this early sneak peak, you may be as excited as we are to see what else is coming. Get all the info (including a video demo) here. Data Doctors Video: Wii U - A Sneak Peek from E3 We were at E3 earlier in the week, and got our hands on the coming gaming console from Nintendo. This thing is killer - a complete game changer. We have a quick minute long recap of the highlights that's worth seeing, even if you're not the gaming type. Mobile App of the Week: Snapseed Photo Editing Snapseed is a new image-editing app from Nik (a leading developer of software and plugins for the desktop). The app allows for easy editing on your iPad and includes various special effects from "Grunge" through "Vintage Film" to "Organic Frames", or you do "Selective Adjust". The level of polish is high, and the price is right - just $5. See more about and get Snapseed here. Weekly Advice Column: Tips for Reducing Cellphone Radiation Exposure A recent report from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), which is part of the World Health Organization lists mobile phone use in the same category as lead, gasoline engine exhaust, and chloroform. Officially, cell phone radiation is listed as a "carcinogenic hazard" according to their findings. To put this into perspective, the same scoring system has put some pickled vegetables and coffee in the same category, so this report is by no means a link suggesting cell phones cause cancer but it has stirred the controversy up again. With this in mind, we look at 5 quick tips that can help you reduce cellphone radiation exposure. The Radio Program: E3, Microsoft Wins, iCloud & New Mac OS! Hulk Hogan joins us for a quick on camera interview as we were at E3 (The Electronic Entertainment Expo) this week. We saw all the new games and gaming systems from Nintendo (we have a hands on video of the Wii U) Sony, Microsoft and app developers. This week we dive into the new Microsoft Windows 8 OS and Windows Phone 7, Apple's new OSX Lion and iOS5. If you Skype or video chat, we've got an easy tip that'll make using these services a more personal one to one experience. 3. We never called them anything but bubblers here in Massachusetts--a water fountain was what was in the park-tall and water sprayed from the top and filled a little pool like thing around it! All of our schools had the bubblers in the halls-they were kept very clean and I never remember anyone getting sick. When I said the word bubbler after we lived in Texas-nobody knew what I was talking about--they all called them water fountains---so it must be certain areas of the country call them water fountain, drinking fountain, bubblers------but now people are so germ conscious they are no longer popular--I remember how refreshing a cold drink of water from the bubbler tasted in the school halls! 3. Ewww, Marilyn. I used to enjoy salad bars that were frequent in supermarkets here until I watched a kid cough all over the greens. I put down my container and went home and made my own salad, and never went to a salad bar again. Ick! I don't even want to know what kinds of horrible things we end up consuming when we eat out. The visuals stay locked in my head forever. Ick! And I don't buy organic ... and am glad I don't, what with the German organic farm being the possible source of the new EColi going around. I realize that in the olden days the only food you got was so-called organic. But that's just me, and I don't know if people are using infected manure to grow their crops.
