    3. We had a HEAVY snow storm in Tucson and it was bitterly cold. OK take that with a grain of salt if you live somewhere with real winters and real snow storms. For us desert rats, it was very impressive and best of all, it was pretty much gone in an hour or so. We were twice blessed with snow but we got the really good stuff with the first batch. The second one came down nicely, but didn't really stick. Here is what a HEAVY snow storm looks like to desert rats. 3. We really had a mix of weather here yesterday. Rain, sleet, hail, AND Snow! Rain started at about 5:30 in the morning. It never rained very hard. Just a gentle soaking rain that lasted for 4 or 5 hours. It stopped raining around 10:00 a.m. and we actually had some sunshine, off and on, for a few hours. It clouded up again in late afternoon and we had another bout of rain that lasted for 2 or 3 hours. It rained a little harder the second time, along with lightning and thunder. I checked the rain gauge after the first rain.We got 1/4" out of that. I didn't empty the gauge and when I was able to go into the back yard this morning to check, there was just under 1/2" of rain. It was cold and windy yesterday. Temperature this morning at 6:00 a.m. was 40 degrees with a slight breeze making it feel like it was in the thirties. We have clear skies today with bright sunshine. I heard on the radio early this morning that there is a slight chance of more rain today. Don't know where it will come from...not a cloud in the sky...but they can appear as if by magic so I am not going to rule it out. I don't remember ever having a bird get into the house but hummingbirds used to fly into the laundry room when we had the door open while using the "Maytag twins". There was a window in the wall across from the door and I am sure the birds thought they could just go straight through. They would bump into the window. Never hard enough to get injured. If we couldn't heard them back to the doorway we just trapped them against the window and carried them outside and released them. 3. Hi you all It's a bit on the cold side here in California, we had a good thunder storm Tuesday, and lots of rain. It got windy some and now it's just cold,. Had some excitement last night, I was siting at my computer last night, when I thought I hear something come in the room, but looked around and saw nothing. I got up and was in the kitchen, and all of a sudden a bird came flying out of my computer room and into the living room, he went right to the mantle on the fireplace, the cats went after him, I started yelling at the cats and ran as fast as this old lady can run, and got to the bird before the cats. I grabbed him, I could feel the little birds heart beating fast in my hand. I went outside to my garden and let him go, It was dark, I hope he found his way home ??? There's a lot of snow up at the cabin, we would have to dig in if we went up there, I don't think so, will wait for it to melt. As we were coming back from shopping yesterday, all of a sudden there were the mountains in front of us, so much snow, they looked beautiful. Going to try and make some home made Chili, I have only made it one other time, and it wasn't that good. I am going to use Tri-tip roast for the meat, that's what my recipe calls for, I will let you know how it turns out. I was watching a program on Cable TV last week and it was all about chili, all over the country, and what were the best places to go for chili. One place, their chili was so hot, that if you finished a bowl, they put your name on their wall. I am not one who likes real hot food, but my husband loves hot chilies, so I will make one pot of chili, than take mine out and put in real hot chilies for my husband. He likes his so hot, that he starts sweating, I don't like food that hurts me !!!!! Doug, you and Sherry are never far from my thoughts, or my prayers. I don't know the words to tell you how sorry I am for what you are both going through, it's just overwhelming. I am going in and feed the cats and make pot of coffee, than put on the morning news. 3. My thoughts and my heart go out to you two. My dad passed away from cancer many years ago and he to stopped eating. He had no sleep in him and was up all night and someone had to stay up with him, we took turns. We finally ask the doctor to give him something so that he would sleep at night. It had the opposite affect. He liked to roam and do things. He slept in my room and I had some Pittsburgh Pirate pictures on the wall, along with a bat and baseball cap, but not on the wall. One time he came out of my room wearing the baseball cap and swinging the bat with a big glorious smile on his face. I will never forget that picture. He went into a coma, but I saw tears streaming down his face and I will never forget that either. My daddy, my idol, my friend was leaving me to be with God. We were pals as well as father and daughter. Well, I really depressed myself now and will quit talking. Love, Barb

Hope I spelled it right.   Annette.

    1. [ML] New way of STEALING...
    2. CAROL KUNZ
    3. This is especially frightening to me, as my card has been 'hijacked' twice in one year without every having 'lost' one at all. ** ** ** *THOUGHT YOU WOULD APPRECIATE THIS CAUTIONARY MESSAGE.* If you have seen this before then use it as a reminder. *New way of STEALING... ESPECIALLY LOOK AT SCENE THREE... Be sure to read Scene 3. Quite interesting. This is a new one. People sure stay busy Trying to cheat us, don't they? SCENE 1. A friend went to the local gym and placed his belongings in the locker. After the workout and a shower, he came out, saw the locker open, and thought to himself, 'Funny, I thought I locked the locker... Hmm, 'He dressed and just flipped the wallet to make sure all was in order. Everything looked okay - all cards were in place... A few weeks later his credit card bill came - a whooping bill of $14,000! He called the credit card company and started yelling at them, saying that he did not make the transactions. Customer care personnel verified that there was no mistake in the system and asked if his card had been stolen... 'No,' he said, but then took out his wallet, pulled out the credit card, and yep - you guessed it - a switch had been made. An expired similar credit card from the same bank was in the wallet. The thief broke into his locker at the gym and switched cards. Verdict: The credit card issuer said since he did not report the card missing earlier, he would have to pay the amount owed to them. How much did he have to pay for items he did not buy? $9,000! Why were there no calls made to verify the amount swiped? Small amounts rarely trigger a 'warning bell' with some credit card companies. It just so happens that all the small amounts added up to big one! ============================ SCENE 2. A man at a local restaurant paid for his meal with his credit card. The bill for the meal came, he signed it and the waitress folded the receipt and passed the credit card along. Usually, he would just take it and place it in his wallet or pocket. Funny enough, though, he actually took a look at the card and, lo and behold, it was the expired card of another person. He called the waitress and she looked perplexed. She took it back, apologized, and hurried back to the counter under the watchful eye of the man. All the waitress did while walking to the counter was wave the wrong expired card to the counter cashier, and the counter cashier immediately looked down and took out the real card. No exchange of words --- nothing! She took it and came back to the man with an apology.. (This scenario actually happened to me at a local restaurant- Falls Terrace-between the waitress and the front desk cashier.) Verdict: Make sure the credit cards in your wallet are yours. Check the name on the card every time you sign for something and/or the card is taken away for even a short period of time. Many people just take back the credit card without even looking at it, 'assuming' that it has to be theirs. FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, DEVELOP THE HABIT OF CHECKING YOUR CREDIT CARD EACH TIME IT IS RETURNED TO YOU AFTER A TRANSACTION! ========================== SCENE 3: Yesterday I went into a pizza restaurant to pick up an order that I had called in. I paid by using my Visa Check Card which, of course, is linked directly to my checking account. The young man behind the counter took my card, swiped it, then laid it on the counter as he waited for the approval, which is pretty standard procedure. While he waited, he picked up his cell phone and started dialing. I noticed the phone because it is the same model I have, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Then I heard a click that sounded like my phone sounds when I take a picture. He then gave me back my card but kept the phone in his hand as if he was still pressing buttons. Meanwhile, I'm thinking: I wonder what he is taking a picture of, oblivious to what was really going on. It then dawned on me: the only thing there was my credit card, so now I'm paying close attention to what he is doing.. He set his phone on the counter, leaving it open. About five seconds later, I heard the chime that tells you that the picture has been saved. Now I'm standing there struggling with the fact that this boy just took a picture of my credit card. Yes, he played it off well, because had we not had the same kind of phone, I probably would never have known what happened. Needless to say, I immediately canceled that card as I was walking out of the pizza parlor. All I am saying is, be aware of your surroundings at all times. Whenever you are using your credit card take caution and don't be careless. Notice who is standing near you and what they are doing when you use your card. Be aware of phones, because many have a camera phone these days. FORWARD THIS TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN THINK OF. LET'S GET THE WORD OUT! JUST BE AWARE. Never let your card out of your sight.....check and check again! Scary isn't it.....* [image: http://www.incredimail.com/?id=621138&did=10501&ppd=2866,201207081651,9,1,1180443510474185921&rui=148121552&app_test_id=0&sd=20130211] <http://www.incredimail.com/?id=621138&did=10501&ppd=2866%2c201207081651%2c9%2c1%2c1180443510474185921&rui=148121552&app_test_id=0&sd=20130211> FREE Animations for your email by IncrediMail <http://www.incredimail.com/?id=621138&did=10501&ppd=2866%2c201207081651%2c9%2c1%2c1180443510474185921&rui=148121552&app_test_id=0&sd=20130211> <http://www.incredimail.com/?id=621138&did=10501&ppd=2866%2c201207081651%2c9%2c1%2c1180443510474185921&rui=148121552&app_test_id=0&sd=20130211> <http://www.incredimail.com/?id=621138&did=10501&ppd=2866%2c201207081651%2c9%2c1%2c1180443510474185921&rui=148121552&app_test_id=0&sd=20130211> <http://www.incredimail.com/?id=621138&did=10501&ppd=2866%2c201207081651%2c9%2c1%2c1180443510474185921&rui=148121552&app_test_id=0&sd=20130211> <http://www.incredimail.com/?id=621138&did=10501&ppd=2866%2c201207081651%2c9%2c1%2c1180443510474185921&rui=148121552&app_test_id=0&sd=20130211> Click Here! <http://www.incredimail.com/?id=621138&did=10501&ppd=2866%2c201207081651%2c9%2c1%2c1180443510474185921&rui=148121552&app_test_id=0&sd=20130211> <http://www.incredimail.com/?id=621138&did=10501&ppd=2866%2c201207081651%2c9%2c1%2c1180443510474185921&rui=148121552&app_test_id=0&sd=20130211> <http://www.incredimail.com/?id=621138&did=10501&ppd=2866%2c201207081651%2c9%2c1%2c1180443510474185921&rui=148121552&app_test_id=0&sd=20130211> <http://www.incredimail.com/?id=621138&did=10501&ppd=2866%2c201207081651%2c9%2c1%2c1180443510474185921&rui=148121552&app_test_id=0&sd=20130211> <http://www.incredimail.com/?id=621138&did=10501&ppd=2866%2c201207081651%2c9%2c1%2c1180443510474185921&rui=148121552&app_test_id=0&sd=20130211>

    3. Well if you didn't hear it by now, on the TV or radio, Christopher Dorner had a shoot out with police up in San Bernardino mountains late yesterday, and the cabin he was hiding in, and shooting from, caught fire and burned down, and him with it, but not before he killed another policeman and wounded another. They say they will to have have dental records to positively identify him !!! I am just glad it's all over, and done with. Sully, in California

    3. Watching the TV news here in California, they have Christopher Dorner in the San Bernardino Mountains, a small Community called Barton Flats. There is a little lake up there called Jinks lake, some cabins but not really close to each other, it is a very remote area. He tied up a couple of people and stole their truck, that's when a Forest Ranger saw him and gave chase. Christopher stopped the truck and ran into the forest, there has been shooting, a I think they said two deputies got shot, but not sure on that !!! Thank goodness he went the away from where our little cabin is in a town, there in the San Bernardino national forest. I think he is not going to be taken alive !!! Going out to dinner for my Birthday leaving at 3:30, when I come back I will up date you if anything happens, but I really think they need to get him before darkness, as there are no street lights up there, when night comes it's black, you can't see your hand in front of your face !!!
