Well, it was sunny today, but never really got warm, and by 3:30 it was all ready getting cold. Had a slow day, worked on my genealogy most of the day, found some cousins, they live here in California. I am trying to write a letter to the oldest, found his address in the white pages, started a letter, but it's so hard to write to someone I have never met, and to tell them they are a far distant cousin sounds so phony. I am thinking he is shaking his head, wondering what I am going to get out of this, (am I for real) I did this when I made up the Sullivan Family tree, I got some returns, but there were others who didn't want anything to do with genealogy. I think, they think, I am going to find some family secrets, or maybe they have something to hide !!!! I have to finish this and get it all printed up, because my eyes are failing, and I don't know how long I can keep doing research. I have many brick walls, and would love to break a few of them down, before I go to that big Garden in the sky. My husband is watching "War Of the Worlds" I am sitting here listening, sounds kind of scary. Have any of you watch those home shows, most of them are on HGTV, House Hunters, Outrageous Kitchens, They find houses for people, all over the world, and then there is one with two brothers who talk people into buying houses, and tell them they can make them into, their dream homes !!!! I just started watching them, I am so tired of the TV shows on right now. There are just a few reality shows I like, they rest don't interest me at all. I can't believe how soon they start reruns these days, seems like only a couple of months of the new season, and than comes the reruns !!!! Well I am going to go finish cleaning up the kitchen, I was soaking a couple of pots, but now I am sure they are ready to put in the dishwasher. Have a good evening !!! Sully, in California
It was nice and sunny here today and it did get warm by noon or a little after. I don't know what the high temp was but it must have been near 70. We had a breeze blowing just about all day long. I didn't have to leave the house today so I never did get "dressed up". I had my usual breakfast, a bowl of cereal, sausage, hash browns, and scrambled eggs. I had a small glass of cranberry juice to wash down the few pills I take each morning and half a cup of coffee. I did go outside a couple of times just to get the feel of the warm sun and do a little weed patrolling. Back in November I dug up all of the iris corms and amaryllis bulbs. I spaded the bed and added some soil amendments and bone meal and slow release fertilizer and replanted the iris and added some new dutch iris bulbs. I put the amaryllis bulbs in a different bed. All are growing well and hopefully I will have some blooms next month. I have my thermostat set at 75 now but will start to lower it as the days warm up more. The heater doesn't come on much during the day and maybe once an hour at night. I had/have a first cousin who lived/lives in New Mexico. I use past and present tense verbs here because I don't know if she is still living. I have written to her in the past trying to get family information but she doesn't answer my letters. I will try to get information through the local LDS Family Research Center as soon I get past my present health state. Yes Cora, I don't drink anything with caffeine? Doctor told me many years ago not to have it in anything I drink. It was because I had a hiatal hernia and an ulcer on my esopfaous (I know I have it spelled wrong). Good Morning I slept till almost 9:00 AM this morning, stayed up last night and watched Jay Leno, watched his monologue, than I guess I fell asleep. Woke up to a beautiful morning, sun is out, it's going to warm up to 70 degrees, and the birds are out, I saw a humming bird in one of my Japanese Maples flowers, I have lots of flowers blooming out in the back, also our peach tree is getting blooms. So spring is about ready to peek it's head !!!!! I too suffer from insomnia from time to time, but thank goodness not all the time. I love to sleep, a good night sleep energizes me, it's what gets me started on a good day. If I don't get enough sleep, I have to drag myself around all day, I really get almost nothing done. I woke up this morning, as soon as I had my first cup of coffee, I started planning my day, change the sheets on our queen size bed, do three loads of wash, make cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, with a salad and maybe some home made biscuits. I might work in the garden a little, do a little weeding, the rain has softened the ground, so the weed should come right up with a good tug. Well the day is ahead, and I am roaring to get with it, so where ever you are, and what ever your doing have a good day !!!! Sully, in sunny California

Barbara, Neither Firefox nor Gmail is a "server" (provider). Firefox is a BROWSER and Gmail is a web-based email program. Both are "free"..... A server or provider is the company you pay to allow you to connect to the internet. Don't depend on anyone but yourself to see that your machine (computer) avoids, insofar as is possible, viru*es, spyware, and malware. There are perfectly adequate FREE security programs you can use without having to pay for them. ONE of each is plenty. Machine may malfunction if you try to run more than one antivir*s program on it at the same time. Cora -----Original Message----- From: Barbara Mangan Jeannie, it may not be the fault of your computer. Some servers went down with malware, including mine, firefox-gmail. Even Apple's computers got it. Barb
I’d like to see it also, Joyce, if you don’t mind. Even though it might not have been much according to Nebraska standards, for people not used to it, it can be quite challenging, quite a problem. My heart and my prayers go out to all those in the Heartland who were devastated by this week’s blizzard. It does seem that Mother Nature is drowning us in her fury, with hurricanes, tornados, and blizzards. And we in the Southeast still suffer from extreme drought. Nature unbalanced! One time I could hear something walking across our kitchen ceiling on the opposite side of the ceiling. I thought that it was a mouse and told Miserable about it. We had big panels on the ceiling so he took a broom and lifted up one of them and out flew a bird with Miserable and a broom after it. What a site to behold with him waving the broom back and forth with the poor bird flying like a bird out of the hell. He chased him up into the bathroom and somehow the bird squeezed himself between the window and the screen and was saved from Miserable and the broom. Barb
