Louise, I didn't get the shot in my eye, underneath my eye. I was out of it to and though I new what he was doing, I didn't care. Barb
You had to rub it in didn't you Louise. Its yucky here and raining, You ro Sully. I can't wait till I can start gardening. Just the thought of getting a shot in the eye, ewwwwwwwww. What are those shots for and what are they supposed to do? I feel so bad for you. When I had my first cataract removed, I got 3 shots in my face by my eye. I had no idea that this is what the procedure was about. I turned my face to look at the doctor and saw this dagger of a needle coming towards me and in went the shot of Novacaine which hurt like heck and the 2 others. When I had the second one removed, there were no shots. He put a lot of drops in my eye to numb it which it did. The idiot doctor cut part of my eye that wasn't supposed to get cut and boy did it hurt. I saw real good for a while but my eyesite wasn't to good after that. My brother-in-law complained about the same thing. Barb
Annette, sometimes that happens and it is very discouraging. I was on a plateau for 2 weeks once and I got so mad that I ate a whole candy bar. When I went back to get weighed 3 days later, I had lost 5 lbs. I ask a nurse about this and she said that I probably shocked my system. Barb
Oh gosh, still sounds creepy. Of course I am just not thrilled for shots. Glad you were out so you didn't care. Bad enough we have to have babies and then put up with all this stuff. I always said if men had babies, they would have one. no more. well my gosh what kind of an eye Dr. did you go to? The place we go deals in glasses and all that but they are regular Drs. and do different kinds of surgery on the eye. They have another building there where all this is done. My husband and I both had cataracts removed and they did it with the drops to numb the eye, we were also out in never, never land so if they gave a shot then I didn't feel it. I kind of roused when he was getting my eye lashes out of the way and it kind of pulled. guess I moaned and I heard him say that. Seems the shot in the eye is kind of the old way I think. My son had that when they took the cataract out of his eye he was born with. This was a long time ago. They recorded it and I got to watch it on the tv. As long as I didn't relate it to him I was ok, but when I felt it was my son was a little more creepy. But he didn't feel any thing. He was a young man at that time. We are supposed to be in the 70's Friday. Sorry about that, darn. Shouldn't be. Need the rain of course now the almonds are blooming and the growers don't want that. Rains, the bees don't fly. Never satisfy every one. I felt worse having the shots for skin cancer more than the eye thing. They do it, then there is a Dr. there that examines it to see if they have got all of it, if not then maybe have to shoot you up again and do another. Then wait again for the other guy. I only had to have one done twice and it was from a regular Dr. and not the skin Dr. He didn't get it all the first time, he sent his tests out, so when I went back then had to schedule for it again. I guess still not all as the skin Dr. did it again a few years down the road. But the others the skin Dr. has done they havn't come back. He does really good work. Well, have appointment with eye doctor, have to get another injection this morning, not looking forward to this !!!! Just wait for it to be over, come home and sit in my chair in my room and wait it out !!! It will be better tomorrow, it will be over for another 4 weeks. Today is beautiful, sunny and it's going up into the 70's. They say Friday will maybe get into the 80's, can't wait for that. I hope it stays warm for the weekend, maybe do a little gardening. This is the kind of day that brought people to California by the thousands in the early nineteen hundreds. Sully in sunny and warm California.

We have been doing a lot of babysitting because our daughter-in law had a family emaergency. Her Mother had blood clots in both lungs and legs so we were happy to watch our little Levi. I became very discouraged over my weight because it has stayed at the same place for three weeks now so guess I will just have to do more exercise or something. I will not give up. My Airman has been busy the last two weeks with doctors appointments. I guess this is not unusual for people our age. I am still busy with Puppies and am making some grounds with their behavior training etc. They are so full of energy. These Jack Russel Terriers are really a different breed. WOW! Annette.
I never liked going to the Dr. when I had to have some kind of a (shot). Or when I had to have skin stuff done. I knew I would be there for hours. For all the tests. To much sun in my time, and I am not fair skined. To much water skieing. Mowing lawns, forget the inside, outside. Supposed to be good up here. Warmer. Not the north wind. So get some more of the wood stowed away where it belongs in the pile to dry out. I can't get that through my husbands head that I don't want it stacked in the shed because it won't dry out good, after all we have to burn it next year and that isn't a long time. But with the wind and the hot sun should dry some. He just doesn't remember. Every one stay safe out there up there where the weather is really bad. Doug, did you get any rain down there in Texas? Of course when you do it is always when you have to take Sherry to the Dr. darn always happens that way. Drive safe. I am always sad when someone loses a pet, I often think our pets may have stronger family connections with us that some of our family. I have two Chihuahuas and I am surprised when I add up their ages. Because they are small I think they are young. They are not. I am sorry for your and your daughter's family's loss, Louise. I know it is so very sad when we lose part of our family which they are. Mine have been gone for a long time but I still pine for them and miss them terribly. Their pictures are still on the refrig. They used to lay next to each other and look out the screen door when it was warm. Tipper was a mix and Boo Boo was a medium Yorkie. Barb
Sully, I have some genealogy sites if you would like to have them. Barb
What a great thought Sully. There was a girl at my school who we called 'Sully'. I went to visit a friend at a rehab. place and was told that Sully was her room partner. I wanted to see if Sully still responded to that name, so as I entered I said 'hi Sully' and she said 'hi'. Barb
Oh Carol, I love it !! Years ago when my children were dating, they would drag home their dates, introduce them to us, and the next day would ask us, "how we like their date"?? Well we usually said they seemed nice, but most of the time I was thinking WHAT DID THEY SEE IN THESE STRANGE CREATURES ???? I talked this over with my husband, he looked at me kind of funny, I said that which ever one us went to happy hunting ground first, the one left behind should do some dating right after the funeral, I was thinking of hiring a very young, Goth style guy, bring him to a holiday gathering and introduce him as my new boy friend, and tell them we are going to start our own church, for the children of this world that need help. Also I would have him treat me badly in front of them, and when the next time we met, ask them what they thought of my new boy friend, soon to be my new husband ???? It was pay back time LOL I have gotten older since this first crossed my mind, so maybe I am not up to pretending !!! But at the time it seemed like pay back, I can almost see the looks on their faces. I don't know if they would have forgiven me, so it's a good thing we are both alive and still kicking !!! Sully

Was sad to hear about Cleo, that little black grand-baby of yours, but she lived a long and much loved life. When we had to put our last dog down, I went in with her while they gave her the injection, I was patting her head till she was gone. A very sad day for us, and for weeks I could have sworn I heard her (her nails hitting the tile) coming across the tile floor to come sit with me in the living room. Now we have our new little Greeley, but I still miss her at times, she was old like us, a couch potato, the new dog wants to play all the time, some times gets a little crazy. It's sunny outside, but cool. I am thinking about what I should make for breakfast, wondering if I can get my husband to make it instead. He always makes bacon & eggs sandwiches, but if I don't have to make them, I'll go for it !!! On my second cup of coffee, trying to drink less coffee, but it seems every evening I get a caffeine headache. I am wondering how long it will take for my body to get use to less caffeine ??? When I drink to much coffee, I am up way to late, so that's why less coffee. Going to try and work on more genealogy today, it's kind of cold in spite of the sunny day, so it's good for me. Have a good Sunday where ever you are !!!! Sully, in sunny California
Sully, I used to be able to drink coffee at night and go right to bed, of course I was quite a bit younger. I can remember my brother and family coming over on Friday eve. if we all didn't have to work the next day and maybe not go home until 11 or 12 and we would maybe have 2 pots of coffee. I am not sure if we had the elec. pot then or made it on the stove. But his wife didn't drink coffee so it was just the three of us. Yes, it is so hard with those darn dogs. Even though she didn't live here besides the vacations they went on she would be here at least every other week end. I swear when I come in the back door I can hear her running across the porch into the kitchen. Almost see her laying there by the stove. She was a sweet heart. Since she got old like us she was taking more naps. That was fine with me. I could never get up in the night with a puppy. I hear now they have paper or something you can put on the floor and they will go on there, but not sure just how that happens. I told them when they get another one I won't baby sit as to old for a puppy. She got in the habit of sleeping on the bed when they first brought her home, of course she was used to her mama and brothers and sisters. She had read if you have them by the bed and put your hand down with them they won't cry. Well that didn't work, I think you need to put them in another room where you can't hear them. Any way she put her up beside her and of course that worked, so the habit was started. She even wanted her head on the pillow. At least we have good memories of her. When they worked the kitchen door has two doors you can close, so they would put papers down and close the doors so she just had the kitchen. Put the doggie door in and she caught on to that good. She hated cats, of course Carol would have her chase them out of the yard. So our two stray cats here she would want to chase and I wouldn't let her. The one cat would come up to her and want to rub noses and Cleo would get so up set since she couldn't chase it. It was like how dare you touch me, you are a cat! Strong wind again today. Ken is trying to cut some more of the wood cut up. Wind just to strong and cold for me. Inside. I go and check ever so often, but can't make him come in. Well need to get something done today. Some days just don't feel like it. Maybe getting a little lazy. Oh no, that couldn't be.
