My mother had one on her bed until she past away, chenille I mean. Barb
Hi Pat Are you new. If not, I don't remember your name. Barb
Hobnail milkglass, reminds me of Chenille, with the little bumps all over it, but of course, chenilee was soft and cuddly, and hobnail is hard. Can't sleep. Drinking warm milk. Maybe that will help. I used the Wish Book as my paper dolls. When I was a kid you could buy saddles, harness, and other horse equipment through the catalog, and showed it on the horse. Better than any paper dolls I could buy(if I would have had the money which we didn't). Barns, houses and all the people and clothes for them. I could cut the little tabs what more could I ask for. I hope all goes well with the surgery Robert. I was going to do blood work this morning, but have next week I can do it so changed my mind. My husband had to be at the veterans Dr. for the damentia at 9:30. Didn't want to wait that long before I could eat. Woke up before six so kind of tired today. I could really take a nap now. that is what my mom always told me, you have to leave something to the imagination. Makes them want to see more and can't. Can't you just imagine the girls now being in the OLD days. I remember my mom saying when ladies started showing the ankle it was shocking. You never wore mens pants, you could wear a riding skirt that was split but not mens pants. some of them may have wore the mens pants if they were haying or something like that, I laugh when I see a movie that is supposed to be late 1800's or early 1900's and the women are wearing really tight jeans. That was a no, no then. When we bought our cabin 25 years ago, it came fully furnished (worn out furniture and I didn't like most of it, very shabby and stained) but they had left lots of bedding, I found 2 really nice Chenille bedspreads, I brought them home and washed them, they were in my linen closet, but they have disappeared, I think my daughter has confiscated them. Now I am more into a beautiful comforter, with a bed ruffle, and shams to match, I have a canopy bed, so we made a canopy to match the comforter. I also put one of those really soft blankets over my bedspread, because we have pets, and every time I get the comforter cleaned it costs a bundle. I have had this comforter for about seven years and it still looks new, it the first comforter I haven't got tired of in years. I use to change my bedspread in the spring, and than a heavier bedspread or comforter in the Fall. But this Comforter set is so lovely, I just never find the need to change it to something else. Don't you just love it when you find the perfect thing, that's the way it is with my home too, oh I have seen other houses I've liked, but never to the point that I thought seriously about moving. I had a dream a while back, I lived somewhere else, and went by my old home (the one I live in now) and thought to my self, "Why did I sell my home, I loved it", I was so sad at the thought of other people living there and I couldn't go home again. We have lived here Fifty two years, so many memories, had my last to children living in this home, really good years. Although the yard is getting to much for us, I just might give the house to my granddaughter, if I have anything to say. She spent her first five years in this house, and she loves it too. That's why when she deiced to go to college, she came down here, where she's ten minutes away. When I knew she was coming down here to college, I painted her old room, and decorated it in a kind of beach theme, Sea Shell pattern on her comforter, and a high shelf with all kind of things that remind her of the ocean, and beach. She is coming over this weekend, and we're going to do some baking, maybe a nice Meatloaf, and a Pineapple upside down cake. Have a good one, Sully in Sunny California

Last night my husband and I were talking, he said remember when you got what they called Birthday spankings, one spank for each year you were, and then they said a pinch to grow a inch, and there was something else they said, I can't remember, do any of you ???? The sun is out here, almost blinded me as I poured a cup of coffee this morning...
What do you remember about these? Marilyn -- "If you don't get outside every day, even for a minute, you have not appreciated what God has done. It makes you grateful for our surroundings, and it starts your day differently." Johnny Cash
