Hi Pat, I just turned 75 last Saturday. I wish I had half your energy. I have fibromyalgia all overmy body and am in constant pain. Found something that helps a little bit Barb
My neighbor had one chicken, rooster, that crowed everyday at 5:00 a.m. Since it woke me up I woke up the neighbor. Then he got a duck. You want a good watch dog, get a duck. Chicken and duck didn't last long. Not allowed to have them in the city. Before they went, I heard he was supposed to get a cow. Falling on floor. Barb
Hope you and hubby had a good day and spent time with your memories. Barb
I wish you all a very happy birthday and the blessing of many more. So very sweet and such a great thing to put in your memory book. Barb

I want to wish all of you a great Easter. Barb
I bought my younger son a white chocolate bunny named "Baby Binky'' for most of his life, till they quit making it...I still buy him a white bunny, though...Hubby usually gets something with peanut butter in it, and joins Son in loving dark chocolate...I didn't find hubby what I wanted this year but have to go out Tuesday and stores should have a ton of candy on sale. I will color him an egg and fix a good meal so he'll be alright. He has candy, cookies and trail mix to munch on... Hope each and every one of you has some happy Easter memories to pull out and savor..I know I do ! Yes, our Easter Sunday is so different now, I had my eye done on Wednesday, so haven't gotten my energy level up yet. I have been going to bed early, and getting up late, but last night I didn't sleep good, was very restless. Will have a very quiet Easter this year !!! I use to shop for days, to get the candy my children liked the best, ( little dots of candy on a long white paper, chocolate eggs filled with strawberry filling, just for couple) for my Children's Easter baskets, would also buy small toys to put in the basket, and than I would cellophane wrap the whole basket and put a big bow on the top. We all had new Easter outfits for church on Sunday, and maybe a Easter bonnet. We would dye a couple of dozen hard boiled eggs, we would hide them in the back yard and after church, all the children had a Easter egg hunt. Some how there was always one or two they didn't find, and weeks later one of the kids found them, STUNK TO HIGH HEAVEN they did !!!!! Always made a nice Ham, with all the trimmings, use to bake a cake, dye coconut green to put on top of cake, put some of those marshmallow bunny's on top, with jelly beans for eggs. The kids loved it, except my daughter she didn't like coconut at all, so had to keep one little spot on top of the cake with no coconut just for her. Oh, what fun we had, I didn't appreciated it enough, should have savored it more. Sully, in Sunny California
I remember getting up at the crack of dawn to hide Easter eggs and toys for son Richard...Hubby had to do it one time because we went to an Easter Sunrise celebration..He just dumped handfuls of stuff around, so lost out on doing THAT job again... I got a new coat one time, but other than that have never had special clothes....This year? I will color a few eggs with food color, make a special ham dinner and just sit around and reminisce, I suppose...Son's not coming over....we're not going anywhere...Sigh...Jeannie T PS: Had a good country supper...Pork chops, frozen Butter peas cooked with hog jowl seasoning, crackling cornbread, sliced tomatoes.....Enjoyed it very much, except listening to my arteries clanging shut! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Fri, 29 Mar 2013 12:24:53 -0400 marilyn E B <[email protected]> writes: > Sunrise Services, complete new outfits, Easter Egg Hunts and special > music > at church. > > These are all part of my memories of Easter from years gone by. > > Marilyn ____________________________________________________________ How to Sleep Like a Rock Obey this one natural trick to fall asleep and stay asleep all night. http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL3141/5156758d35610758d5c27st01duc
When I think of Easter I think of one time when 4 year old Buzz was 'helping' me color eggs...He has such an active imagination....Knowing what a 'help' the little rat could be I had newspapers scattered all over the kitchen counters...[Have seen Buzz in action before ! ] He said 'Papa gonna be mad at you making such a mess, Granny !" I agreed with him.....He kept on faunching about it till he worked himself up into a real swivet...Went in the living room and said " Stand up , Papa ! I whip your butt !" I went along for the show and smirked as Josh spanked him, lectured him with much finger shaking, etc..etc....Not being able to understand one word in 10 Papa looked to me for enlightment...I told him accusingly what he had almost done and he apologized most politely....Whatta boy! Sunrise Services, complete new outfits, Easter Egg Hunts and special music at church. These are all part of my memories of Easter from years gone by. This morning there was a bird, I think it might be a finch, very small, and two tones of gray, dark and light, trying to get in through the glass of our siding glass door. Right in the corner outside the door, I have a big variegated Ficus Tree in a large pot, it has gotten so big and beautiful over the last two years. The little bird started by just sitting on a small limb, but than looked like he was looking in at the dinning room table, I had two plastic bags hanging on the end of one of the chairs, with some recycled plastic in them, there was a red name on the bag, I thought maybe that's what he saw and thought it was maybe a flower ??? I was afraid our two cats might see him and go after the little bird, so moved everything away from the window. I love to sit at the window and look into my garden, planned it that way when we put the new kitchen in, use to be just a door there, put in a large Wood sliding door, you can open it with just one finger, it glides so smoothly and has ten window panes on each side. I can go right out the doors, onto a wood step and than right into my patio area, and garden. This time of the year it so sweet, to see everything in bloom. We have about six hanging baskets my sister in law gave us, you have to put those coco mats in them, fill them with potting soil, than plant what ever strikes your fancy. This will be the first year for making theses flower baskets, so I am excited to start. I made one last year, put three different kinds of Ivy in the one we had, looks real nice hanging on to the side of my canopy rail. We like small plants the can hangout over the edge, and some small colorful annuals in the center at the top. It takes about six weeks for them to really get full and lushes, than I put them around the patio area, makes you want to sit out there all day. I am so into Spring this year, I just am so tired of winter, maybe it's I am of a age when I enjoy being outside more than inside !!!! They say rain on Easter Sunday, not my favorite, but Easter is earlier this year. All of you have a great Easter, even if it's just church and a quiet dinner !!! Sully, in Sunny California

Green Stamps! When I was a kid I loved to paste those stamps in the books at home and at my grandmother's house. Loved to look at their catalogue to see what we could buy with our stamps. They gave them out at the grocery store where we shopped regularly.
