I am always thinking of Emma, I know she wrote a obituary for herself, she told me it was on her computer, and she told her daughter all about it, I was hoping it would be posted ?? I asked about it, her son Bruce said he would look into it, but nothing ever came of it ???? Don't know what that's all about ??? I still miss her, I have her photo [ one of her looking good, on Mothers day at a restaurant] right here in my computer Room, up on one of my boards. I look at the photo and say, [I wish you were here, I have something I would love to share with you, or maybe a little joke I would tell her] I miss her posts, I would call her sometimes, especially in the last two years of her life, I miss the sound of her laughter. Life is so precious, I maybe saw Emma in person three or four times, but we just clicked, we didn't agree on everything, but we bonded in the way two women do sometimes, we both had three children, two son's and a daughter, we both married our sweethearts, we both worked for the same Telephone Co. in LosAngeles, maybe at the same time, there were so many women working there, we might have even passed in the halls. When ever I am missing Emma a lot, I go back and read some of her posts, in the Memory Lane archives. Boy did we use to write up a storm, there were sometimes over three thousand posts a month, and than I see names like Sopharia, of course our beloved Donna, Karen Uphoff, Eleanor Richardson, also Walter Freeman and his wife Shirley, I do hear from Walter now and than. Valentine was a regular, she was the one who got me started on Memory Lane in the first place, I hear from her sometimes !!! What ever happened to Maureen Gallagher ??? How about TheIowaFarmGirl, Margaret, just to mention a few, there were so many !!! Where are they all now ??? I know some are not with us anymore, but some just faded away, or got to ill to post anymore !!! When I first started posting, I had just had a stroke, had trouble remembering words, sometimes couldn't put two words together, one time I couldn't remember how to spell BABY, I thought to my self, [will I ever be the same] ??? I think writing on Memory Lane was good for me, because little by little, I got my self back !! If you remember a special person who use to post on Memory Lane, let us know who they were, and what happen to them, or where they are now ??? A big thank you, to all that are praying for my son Jim, I appreciate it more than I can express. Sully, in Sunny California

You sound like my kind of people !AND the fruit trees , etc. blooming there mirror the ones here..so must be in a similar weather zone or maybe just this freaky weather...Red buds are blooming up here on the ridge, also, but ours volunteered up right under a big Maple tree so is slower to bloom...I wish you well in this late Spring blast heading our way. Only rain called for here, but maybe storms and hail... Envy you the chickens....An elderly friend of mine liked half banty chickens for economy purposes, and used her banty's to hatch out all sorts of eggs..even a swans eggs a couple times...Jeannie T ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Tue, 9 Apr 2013 19:36:15 -0500 Pat McKinley <[email protected]> writes: > Haven't been on for a while. I will certainly pray for your son and all of your family, he is doing wonderful work over there. He is a brave and wonderful man to travel over there. I have very good friends from Batoun in Lebanon and it is a beautiful place. I have seen lots of videos and pictures. My friends are Christian, much like Greek Orthodox in religion and have explained a lot about it to me. Three brothers left and two came here, one in Curacao and the sisters stayed in Lebanon. How long is he there for? Helen

Good Morning Our granddaughter came to stay last Wednesday, and I have been very busy with her, running around, and cooking up a storm. She left on Sunday to go back to her apartment, and back to college after spring break. She has accepted a internship with a company down in Irvine, so she is excited about that, starts this week working some hours, around her college schedule, until summer, than will work more hours. The best thing is, this could become a full time job for her, after she graduates next year. So many young people who graduate from college, can't seen to find jobs, so this is great for my granddaughter. We have had some strong winds the last few days, there are leaves and seeds off our Ash trees all over the yard, need to clean that up, just need to find the energy ???? Our Wisteria is all a bloom on the back of our house, looks so beautiful, just wish my husband would have built a large arbor, so it has somewhere to go except up over the roof and into a tree. I was thinking the other day about SPRING CLEANING, I have all these projects I would like/need to do, but will have to sort them out by priority, will never get them all done otherwise. Have a good day friends, even if it's just doing nothing at all !!! Sully, in Sunny & Windy California
Good morning, My sister is having an ice, wind and snow storm in Sioux Falls. 45 mph winds, snow coming on top of ice and many thousands already with no power. We, on the other hand, have a little sun, which may melt a little more snow. I can actually see little patches of brown grass at the base of the trees. One of my little great-grandaughters has a birthday today, so it will be a birthday supper at Applebee's tonight, about 5:30. Was at one of my little great- grandson's birthday parties last night. Little Anna will have another B. party at the bowling alley on Saturday, with her little friends. I will go to that, too. Tomorrow I have an eye appt for a checkup, Thursday, a music program in the community room of the apartment building, and Friday night, go dancing. Saturday night too, if the weather co-operates, and the band is a good one. Am hoping Spring gets here sooner than soon, but looks like another system coming in over the weekend. I usually go to Duluth every Monday to visit my son, but they had a lot of snow and he was busy plowing since 3:30 in the morning, so he called and told me not to come. So, I was home all day yesterday, except to go to the party last night. Guess I had better get busy and get things done, like put on my face, and fix my hair which I washed this morning. Need to go down to the lobby and get my mail, but first things first. You all have a great day, too. Sully, your granddaghter is really lucky to have this job going for her. This break in time gives her a chance to see if this is what she wants or not. So many don't have a job to go to. Annette, the same thing happened to my daughters girlfriends daughter. It turns out that she was diabetic. She had a hard time convincing the doctor that something was wrong with her. Barb
----- Forwarded Message ----- From: Annette Tucker <[email protected]> To: Sent: Monday, April 8, 2013 5:23 PM Subject: [AIF] Gossip Well here I am again and so much has happened that I do not know where to begin. Levi is still a sick little boy and they are doing a lot of tests to find out what it could be. He is two years old and has lost a lot of weight and has been sick on and off since before Christmas. We spent most of the day with him at the hospital on Thursday and finally the doctor said he would test for auto-immune problems and then send him home but Levi cannot go back to day care for at least a month. They then took four vials of blood and sent him home until they get the reports back but he cannot be around other children at all. So now it is just a waiting game and I think all of us are holding our breath until we get the reports. I have been busy babysitting Levi and I enjoy it but when I come home I am tired. This is what happens when you are six months away from your 77th birthday. I was quite upset to hear of the passing of Margaret Thatcher and Annette Funicello. Thatcher was a very intelligent woman and I watched Annette grow up on television and movies. Well I will close for now and try and keep you updated on the daily activities of the Tuckers. I hope all you friends are up and about and feeling fine like me. Annette. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "an-internet-family" group. Glad to hear about Sherry. I used to have peeps that grew into chickens. The dog next door killed one and my aunt wanted to have them for my sister's wedding. It was many years before I was able to eat chicken again. Barb
These last few weeks have been so busy with babysitting, company and a sight family emergency that my head is still spinning. We spent Eater Sunday at house of my daughter-in-laws Mother Gertrud. It was a lovely day as Siv her sister and Getrud are from Sweden and there was another woman called Hilda who comes from England and it was so fascinating listen to the different accents My Bob and my Stanley were also there. My son Ronald could not be there as he is Executive Chef at the Venetion Bay club house and Easter is of course one of the busiest of the year for them. Our other two sons had other plans but they did send us a card and called us we have no complaints. Our Grandson Levi gave everyone a scare but everything thing turned out fine we did a lot of babysitting and we just love to do it. Annette.
