    3. Marilyn, could you please send the info to me to? I bought a tomatoe plant in a container last year and got 3 tomatoes. I would love container planting because I have bad lousy dirt. Mostly clay. I used to get so many cucumbers and tomatoes that I was giving them away like crazy. I don't any more, tried changing area but didn't help. I bought, crap, I can't think of the name but I got them at home depot. Very expensive and very disappointing. Will try different brand this year. Pat, how do you grow potatoes? One year I planted some and didn't get anything. I told my mother and she said that they grow underground. Is that right. Barb

    3. Sully, you are so funny and you always make my day. I can't wait to see what you posted. Talk on girl, talk on. I haven't been on a lot lately because of the fibromyalgia in my 'butt' muscles. OK guys, you can get off the floor now. Seriously, the pain was so bad that I couldn't even sit, to hard to drive. I put some of this gel on that I have for arthritis and it helped a little bit. 3. I came back on to see if my son had posted any thing, he flew out of London today, and is on his way home to LAX, I can't wait till he has both is feet on good old American soil. I saw your post Louise, I too have planted potatoes in the past, and it all came to nothing. On top of the ground they flourished, but when it came to the potatoes, they weren't even finger size. We have a lot of clay, which is not bad, if you add a lot of mulch, and work it in good, MAYBE ?? We didn't have much luck with carrots ether. Around August we do get some really hot days, I don't like HOT anymore, my husband and I almost have a toss up, to see who's going out and water the yard. I say to him, more sprinklers, more sprinklers, more sprinklers. I told him I didn't even care if they were on timers, I would go out there and move them where they needed to be, and turn on the water, just so I didn't have to stand in the heat and water. We do try to water before it gets real hot, but some times (a lot of times) time just seems to get away from us !!! I am sorry if some times I get carried away with my posts, it's this old mind of mine, it doesn't know when to just shut up, also I know I sometimes change the subject and than go on and on about something that has nothing to do with the subject I started with, I am old, Jim doesn't let me out much, I don't get the sleep I need, so you see my mind is running on empty all the time. So if I get out of hand, just tell me to shut up !!! I have been trying to write something everyday, that's not always easy being the way I live. I once thought I might tell a tall tale, about running away with the mailman, but thought better, knowing you would all know no man in his right man would want to run away with me (I can't run fast enough), just ask my husband !!! Well, now that I need to make lunch, I'll say see you later alligator, after while crocodile !!! Sully, in still, cloudy California

I echo your thoughts and prayers for Doug and Sherry. They have been down a rough road lately with lots of bumps and ruts and hills to climb but the last report gives them hope that the pathway will be smoother now. We are supposed to get up to 90 degrees today. Windy and partly cloudy tomorrow with temps down to mid 80's, pc on Tuesday with temps down to 75. Clear skies and sunny the rest of the week with 80 and 90 degree temps. Surgery went well. I was the doctor's last patient on Friday afternoon. The first thing they did was to put an IV in my left arm for saline solution and a port for injecting the anesthesia. My right shoulder was injected with a pain blocker and that is the last thing I remember until I woke up in the recovery room two hours later. I finally got home at about 5:30. The pain blocker kept the arm numb but finally wore off overnight. When I woke up Saturday morning I had a lot o! f pain in the shoulder. Really bad!I started on my pain med, Tylenol with codeine #3 tablet every 4-6 hours. I had a hard time finding a comfortable position lying down so I finally went into the living room and sat in a chair. By the time I went to bed last night the pain had subsided a great deal. My sister and my twin brother took turns staying with me. Bro stayed overnight Friday and Saturday and fixed my breakfast for me the next morning. Sister stayed with me during the day. So far I haven't had any problems but that could change tomorrow. That is the first time for a shower since surgery. So we need to find the easiest way to get my arm out of the sling contraption, then there are bandages to be removed. That might be somewhat painful but hopefully not as bad as Saturday morning. I have my first physical therapy session Wednesday morning. That will be an evaluation to see how much PT I will need and how often. Soon it will be just another memory. Thanks for all of yo! ur prayers and well wishes. I will keep you updated. 3. Hi, We are awaiting the arrival of a winter storm (yes, still another one with 7 inches) It is in the Dakotas right now moving towards us. They are getting 12-18 inches of white stuff. Their flooding is going to be extraordinary. Spring just does not want to come here this year. All of our prayers are with Doug and Sherry and Robert. AND, anyone else in need of one. Sully, dear cousin, you have become quite a writer. Have been trying to get back to some more genealogy and am trying to knit a sweater for one of my little great-granddaughter's. She has been trying to continue to wear one I made for her mom when she was 3 or 4, but it does not fit her anymore. She said," I want one so I can save it for my little girl, when I grow up" (she is 7 as of a few days ago.) So, I said, in a weak moment, that maybe I would have to make her one so she could do that. (I have 4 other little girls as well) Hope I don't live to regret the fall out!!!! I am not as fast as I used to be, and prefer to crochet. Thank heaven that there is a lady here in the building that fixes all my knitting boo boos for me. Have a great day, everyone. 3. So many of us on here have problems with our family. Guess it is natural with age coming on, but shouldn't have to put up with the things that there just isn't much help for. they are such sad situations. The gal that cuts my hair and a perm a couple times of year, early 60's, getting squared away for him to quit working, a little older than she is. He got cancer, and it was here and there, thought all gone, then next test back again and he passed just before Easter. Just so sad, ordinary good people, but times up I guess. I have to get my hair cut and I am sure she is back in the shop, but hate to go the first time as its hard to know what to say. I am sure she has been over and over it so many times with all her old ladies. What I don't understand with all the bad people in world wanting to take out other people and all and they just go along being bad people and nothing gets them. Some times I wonder if God needs to take another look around, but I guess we all have our own time to go. Well this is getting out of hand here so better close. Enjoy your Sunday Sully, sounds really good. Every one else. 3. The kids and I planted potatoes one year. We didn't know what the heck we were doing but we did have some. Don't know what they were, but progress. Our ground isn't really good hear. Some really hard. We have planted carots and really strange looking ones. Ground to hard I think. You have alot of energy when it is going in, then the summer comes on 100-110. Not so much fun then and the weeds grow. It was my husband and I the last garden and there were more weeds than produce. So no more, I have thought some times of planting in a container on the deck and i could just take care of it. But then re-think it maybe no. Just running out of energy I guess. I look at the other ladies my age and usually they are sitting on their butt, no yard work or any thing,Going to lunch, Enjoying there later years. Usually husband gone. And here I am, husband with damentia, some days good and some days bad. Mowing and all. Oh -Oh, I feel tired coming on again. Kids out yesterday helping us. Tractor not working again so, mowing down some of the grass in the field with the riding lawnmower. Then cut off some of the branches hanging down on the black walnut trees because Kenneth doesn't realize they are there I guess. They are blooming and I gathered them up and in the wheel barell, well of course a warm day and I was sweating and before I came in I realized my arms were really broke out and itching. So into the shower wash hair and every thing, clothes in the washer. Hayfever worse this year. Hadn't had it for a long time, but starting up again. I used to get it really bad have to lay down with a cold cloth on my head and eyes. But thought I was out growing it. So just hope it isn't going to get any worse. But my eyes are sure itching. Well have to get busy. Not really griping, just one of those days. Every one enjoy the summer coming on. A couple of my grandchildren are at the BMX bicycle races in Oregon this week end and it was 24 degrees. Darn can't think of the name of the town. North of Bend, after I send this I will remember. Oh well. They were going to be glad to get back to Ca. Then he is having a problem with the reer end of the pickup. Noises, of course on a wing and a prayer money wise. Of course grandma has to worry until they get home. 3. Good morning or should I say good Afternoon, it's 10:14 AM here. I slept in this morning, I was up at 2:45 AM and didn't get back to bed till about 4:30 AM. It's a little overcast today, haven't even thought about breakfast yet, If I had my way we would just skip breakfast and go straight to lunch. I was reading the newspaper this morning, and drinking my first cup of coffee, I don't know if it is just me or I am getting old and cranky, but a lot of what I read just doesn't set well with me. The North Korean missile situation for example, I read the Arctic could be ice free by the year 2050, I am glad I won't be anymore, all the problems that will bring !!! The average price to rent a apartment in Orange county, in a safe area, is about $1450.00 a month, Greedy, greedy, greedy !!! Our governor Jerry Brown, needs to be impeached, he is trying to balance the State budget on the backs of the old and the poor. He keeps putting taxes, fees, and fines on everything he can. He is also going to give early releases to prisoners, I heard 1500 once and than another time I heard 9000, all those bad people on our streets, how safe will California be !!! Well that's enough, hope my day is all up hill from here. Maybe I can talk my husband into making breakfast, he likes to make bacon & fried egg sandwich's, not my favorite, but I won't have to cook He He. Have a good Saturday everyone, where ever you are, and what ever you do. Sully in cloudy California
