I'm always happy when I see a letter from you, Dougster....Glad to hear Sherry is holding her own...Hoping you will soon be able to get out and drive that fine tractor of yours..How's 'she' doing, anyway? Was thinking of y'all today as I heard a tractor doing some sort of work in the neighborhood...Usually hubby will go look if he can't figure out where it's coming from..Didn't today...just can't depend on him to keep up with things while I'm trying to nap! We did quite a bit of stuff in the garden so I had a bit of a lie down after lunch...Actually HE did most of the work...I took a couple of IBU's before I went out...figuring it would keep me going longer..Didn't....Hoping I will get better later as theres quite a bit of stuff getting planted in the garden...Hubby decided he would plant what little he wanted up here behind the house...I decided I would plant some stuff in the garden...He swore he was through down there, wasn't going to do any of it. Well, he feels sorry for me I guess, so is doing as much as ever ! *grin* The fact that HIS 'garden' is doing so poorly might have made him realize he needed a backup... We planted a wire circle of half runner beans and a few French bush beans at their feet....Set out an Orange Sun 'tommy toe,' 2 small type sweet pepper plants, 3 or 4 sprouted sweet potatoes....red and green bush okra......That's all I can remember....The Asparagus is slow to bear this year, and none of the polk salat is up except one little sprig under Johnny's apple tree...I picked it and parboiled it...Added some wild lettuce, plantain, and violet leaves for a little serving...Guess I'll have to keep my eyes open for a place where a brush pile was burned...Poke salat LOVES such a place...Oops, rambling here...Jeannie T ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Tue, 30 Apr 2013 18:18:37 -0500 Doug Crim <[email protected]> writes: > Hello Louise, > > Things are pretty quiet here too... of course we don't have the kind > of > wind you describe but we have a lot of wind... Hello Louise, Things are pretty quiet here too... of course we don't have the kind of wind you describe but we have a lot of wind... One day out of the North and the next, out of the South... Gets pretty tiresome. Shery seems to be holding her own these days. Never feels great but she does have more good days than bad, which is a good thing. The past few months have been hard on her. glad things are getting back to normal, what ever that is. You are doing it right, not try to do all exercises in one day. I envy you with the pool, would like to have a pool again and go out when ever I wanted to. It is funny when we had a pool hubby wouldn't go in it just once in a while. The kids and I were in it every day. But as time passed and the kids left home and mama was the one cleaning the pool in the country with fields and lots of dust around I sold it. The neighbors have one they say we can use any time, but I don't use it. They work and are gone alot but just feel funny to use it. Glad Levi can go back to school. Hope all goes well for him. I used to shop with my sis in law never bought much just enjoyed looking, some times it is the compionship and laughing about things you see and would never buy that is the fun part. Well Bob and my son Robert went golfing on Saturday and Kimberly and I went shopping and I think we walked three miles in all but except for a few sore muscles we had a wonderful time and we did not spend that much money. Just enjoyed each others company. The weather was beautiful not too hot and humid and there was a beautiful breeze all day. Just perfect. One good thing about St.Augustine is that there is always something to see. Levi is doing fine and goes back to school on Wednesday of this week. I am getting back on my usual schedule. I do exercises at ten on channel 15. It is called Sit and Be Fit. Then I will ride my stationery bike and walk my dogs and now the pool is open so there is no excuse not to exercise but at my age I cannot do them all in one day so must make out a weekly schedule. Annette.

I used to fall but not anymore. I have broken my nose, got2 black eyes from it, broke a knuckle, tore a ligament in my foot, hit my hip and was x-rayed at two different hospitals and both found 'something' on my hip but did not know what it was. Before these falls, I used to pass out when I would get up. I used to take Elavil and the doctor said that that med and another med I was taking didn't like each other. When I would get up my blood pressure would go down to 90/60 and I would faint. Don't take it any more. Barb

Hi everyone, I had my eye injection on Wednesday, so I always change my sheets and pillow cases the day before and wash the thin blanket I keep over my comforter, make sure the bedroom is dusted, wash the cover on my chair, and vacuum good. I have to be so careful the next three days, the doctor said the hole from the needle, is also the way anything could get in to my eye, and cause a infection. So I stay indoors mostly, and don't put any fans on, or do much of any cleaning, don't want to lose my right eye. I am always worried the first few days, he said after three days, it has grown a film over the injection site, but I still have to put antibiotic drops in my eye for several days. I came home from the doctors on Wednesday and was just miserable till the next morning. Woke up Thursday morning and felt drained, and weak, didn't sleep good, only got a couple of hours sleep. Felling better today, but won't go outside till tomorrow, than might do a little yard work, if I feel good. Annette, you can complain any time you want to, falling is a scary thing, I do it all the time, and I am lucky my husband keeps a good eye on me, especially when I am outside !!! We just don't have good balance anymore, and with my bad eye, and very little vision, I have hardly any perception any more. I fell outside a while ago, got up, but had cut my arm on a piece of yard decoration, didn't go to the hospital, I washed it good, put some 3 in one ointment on it, with a bandage. It took that wound over 4 months to heal, I still have a small scar where I hit my arm. I ended up with scratches all over my legs and arms the week end we cut up that tree branch in the front yard. Most are healed now, but looked like for a while as if I had a fight with several cats, and they got the best of me. I heal pretty fast, but for that one hurt, don't know why it took so long, maybe there was something in the cut ??? When I was my granddaughters babysitter, (from the day she was born, till 4 years old) as soon as she went into nursery school a couple of days a week, what ever she caught, colds, flu's, sore throat's, I got sick too, than the husband got it. I can't tell you how many ear aches she had, she was on some antibiotic all the time (at least it seemed to me at the time). I made a pork roast on Tuesday the day before the eye doctor, and now I added beans, I am putting in some green salsa, green chilies (mild ones) and making burritos for dinner tonight. I hope they turn out to be good, I like a wet burrito, so will put a little of the mixture over the top, with lots of cheese and eat it with a fork and knife. Have a good Friday everyone, Sully in Sunny California
I think they figure if they make it hard you will give up and they got you. You really have to be careful these days so many different ways of getting you. The other day, I had an email supposed to be from my server saying they were doing something different and wanting my password and email address. Well they would already have that so it was just a scam. Delete it. Hate it people trying to get something for nothing. My grand daughter was always after lizards and bugs and all kinds of crawley things. now seems I have a great grand daughter the same way. She is outside digging in the dirt after she has her breakfast. The dog out there with her. she is the outside child and the big brother is more iside. Go figure. As long as they enjoy what they are doing what the heck. Maybe, that is it, hubby was in the navy, military training, you don't stop in the middle of something, finish it. But at his age needs to kick back just a little. I did get him to stop yesterday, pulling grass, the thing I wanted him to do last week has got lost. doesn't remember me talking about it at all. Showing him even. But that is ok. At least he is still here. Need to enjoy what I have I guess. I know I vent sometimes with the damentia, but do enjoy the good days. I heard the same thing Louise. I used to get a magazine called PC world and one of the writers deliberately subscribed to different websites, however, they to wanted a credit card number for 'their free trial'. He had a difficult time trying to cancel his Ancestry free trial. Barb

Giant Lizard, huh? Funny...Once when Johnny was a little boy we had a problem with carpenter ants in the house...The kids saw me catch one and I mashed it and dropped it in the wastebasket nearby..The tenderhearted little boy said " Don't break it's little legs !" I said "Oh I didn't break it's legs, I just put him on the floor so he could go home. "Of course that expression has become a normal thing in our house...If we swat a fly or whatever one is sure to say piteously" Don't break it's little legs ! You will not believe this story. My daughter-in-law's brother came down to visit her with his youngest son from Massachusetts. They had a wonderful time and then Thomas complained of a sore throat and when they took him to a doctor they found he had Scarlet Fever. Poor Linda almost hit the floor. Thomas is 11. The doctor assured Linda that Levi would be fine as long as they kept a good eye on Levi etc. This is like a story on television. Thomas is a fine boy and very interested in animals and bugs like all boys. They were on their patio when Thomas let out a whoop and hollered look look look Elaina I found a giant lizard and I have never seen one and I did not think they got this big. Now Elaina being a typical Florida girl walked over and said let me take of this and then she took her shoe off and whopped the lizard hard and killed him and Thomas of course had a fit. Just another day in the Tucker Family.
I should have said his immune system was weak. Take what? Was he catching something from the other kids? I hope he gets better soon. Its hard having a little one sick all the time. No one I know has a virus. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Yes this is so true and that is why I have now decided to wear my cell phone with me all day when I am up. My beloved sister-in-law lived in a wonderful place where she had her own apartment and when she did not come down to breakfast they checked on her and found her dead on the floor. She was a wonderful person who had two brain tumors and one was removed and the second one was inoperable. However she took care of my Brother for years until his death from Parkinson Disease. I admire this woman so very much. Your husband sounds a lot like mine. Annette. ________________________________ From: Louise Valine <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, April 24, 2013 11:51 AM Subject: Re: [ML] It is me again. (falling) You don't even have to go out side. My dil mother, she is early 90's. Lives in a care place in her own apartment. They go to eat in the dining room. Well she fell sometime in the night maybe getting ready for bed as she didn' t have any clothes on and laid there all night. When she didn't come to breakfast they checked on her and there she was on the floor. Black and blue and all. Of course to the hospital and checking for any bleeds to cause this. She gets dizzy alot. I don't think she should be in that situation now, maybe needs to go to the one that takes care of you. She doesn't want to as you feel it is on the down hill slide now. Checking again today how things are going now. My husband does things outside, going on 84, He has had two stints for years and had heart bypasses (4) in 1984. Does more than he should and can hardly get in the house some times. Just thinks he has to do and he doesn't. It can wait some to the next day. Example-----Yesterday, we have had alt of strong north wind. Night before a limb broke off on the neighbors fence about 10 at night. They pulled it off the fence and he was going to cut it up for us when he came home from work. Well hubby put together the extension cords, under the fence and cut it up with the aligator saw. Back over the fence went the wood, and brush. I hauled the wood pieces up with the wheel barell and the brush, the last brush one stacked way high and heavy, I wanted him to leave it out here and we could take care of it today. No have to get it on the burn pile. So he did it. Just won't wait. It is a good thing on a job you are getting paid for, finish up, but when you are here every day, some things can wait. It is good he does these things I just wish he wouldn't put himself in such pain doing them. But he is up and at it again today.
