I am looking for information on Samuel Meek, bn 1781 in Washington Co., PA and died 1865 in Lee Co., IL. He lived in Belmont Co., OH and served from there in the War of 1812. I have information on his descendants.
Charles, I have a David Meek born 15 Aug 1794 in Washington Co, PA. His father may have been Richard Meek and mother, Nancy ?. David went to Coshocton Co, OH where he married Elizabeth Gary 27 Feb 1814. They later started to Iowa, but David died in Porter Co, IN. Elizabeth and part of their children continued to Iowa. She is buried in the Meek Cemetery in Leon, Decatur Co, IA. Do you know if your Samuel might have had a brother, David? Hi, Bonnie! That is what I'm trying to find out. I have a Henry, Isaac, and now a David in the same area and Samuel and James as Revolutionary War Burials in Washington Co., PA. My Samuel was born in Washington Co. in 1781. Who was his father? Samuel and other Meeks were in Belmont Co., Ohio by 1812. I am trying to find out about the early Meeks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bonnie Cullison" <bonniec@brightok.net> To: <MEEK-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, November 29, 2000 8:00 AM Subject: Re: [MEEK] Samuel Meek > Charles, > I have a David Meek born 15 Aug 1794 in Washington Co, PA.
