Hello Everyone, I would like to introduce my Nancy Meek and myself. Nancy was our great great grandmother, she has however been a hard person to track. The more I have read the post on Rootsweb Gen Forum the confused I have become. What we know for sure. Nancy Meek was born 12-1856 she died July- 1936 in Lampasses, Texas. She married Albert Robinett between the years of 1878-1880. Albert was born in GA, but moved to Walker County Texas, then he moved into the Bell County Texas area. Where I believe he met and married Nancy Meek. They then did live from some time in Witcha County Texas. Together they had four children. What is pure thought... Richard Robinett - Nancy's son said that his mother was born in Jefferson City MO on his delayed birth record. Did he know this for sure or was this a typo? It is thought by some researchers that she is the daughter of John Wesley Meek. He did have a daughter named Nancy in the year of 1856. If John is her father she could not have been born in Jefferson City MO. The MO could be a typo for Mississippi which John was thought to have lived in Miss for some time. Their son John was born in OK and married a lady from Wichita, Kansas where they both lived and died. Their son Oscar married a lady from Tenn, but lived and died in Arlington, Tarrant Co., TX Albert Robinett Jr, married a lady from Bell County Texas in 1909 so their son Albert did have ties back to the Bell County area. There are Meek/Meeks in the area from 1850 to 1900. Did my Nancy have ties to these families? Does anyone have any clues suggestions thoughts on my Nancy Meek? I hope someone can help me work through this confusion. If you have any clues suggestions comment or thoughts please let me hear from you. All will be greatly appreciated Thanks Debbie
