    3. Nancy - I don't know why I didn't think of this before..........duh.........it's possible they have no stone. My paternal 2nd great grandparents died in 1929 and 1943, they have no stone. Why, I'm not sure because of their 10 children, the 9 I have located all have beautiful stones, one son is in the plot with his parents, 3 more in the same cemetery. Anyway, it's entirely possible, we're working on fixing our no stone issue right now. Anyway, you might want to write the cemeteries themselves, addressing the letter to the caretaker, just because their's no stone, there would be a record of the burial. My 2nd great grandmother's year was a bit difficult as until 1950, they didn't put anything but the year and number buried on the card. I had to get a few burials before her and after her and then go down to the vital records office downtown and then narrow down the months by the one prior to her and after her. The reason for that was because my grandfather told me she died in Bridgeton (NJ) and it was actually Hopewell Township. Hope it helps you.
