Hi fellow researchers, This is the first time posting in Maine BUT when all other dead ends hit more Brick walls, it is time to go by hunches and place of birth. I am trying to locate information on a WALKER WILMOT, who lived in Portland Maine about 1840 (he was a defendant in the court system for debts). This is a long shot on my part but it is definately, more than I have now. From my history our ALEXANDER WALTER WILMOT was born in Maine August 1847 in Rockland or Augusta and by 1880 was in New Jersey. He named one of his sons WALTER but called him WALKER. Also am trying to follow another lead of a WALKER WILMOT in Maryland in the 1860's. As I said these are long shots, trying to find my Wilmot's parents. (We are not exactly sure if he was WILMOT or WILLMOT diferent documents spell it different, his descendants have all spell it with 2 L"s ).
