The Mormon church has a wonderful site it is famiilysearch.org. That site lists all their family history centers and you can get local films of just about any town sent to the local library( Family History Center) from Utah for a very small cost. About $4 per roll of film. This is so much better than distance travel and perhaps there is one close enough for you to use. Also You can try, Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness, and USgenweb.com and Interlibrary loan at your local library may be able to help you out. There are more and more free sites with great information( in addition to all the questionable "stuff ") just keep trying Good luck Hattie My goal is to retire and move into a house across the street from a Family History Center. Hope this helps, Hattie
