Did you check with the Post Office? They may have boundries for Cumberland Mills. I checked my Maine Register for 1879-1880 and they list it as part of Westbrook even then. Penny
Tonight on the 1790 census I finished Cheshire County, NH and put the first 3 towns of Windham County Vermont on the web site. I also added the following 4 towns where I do not have county pages for them. Portland, ME Billerica, MA Lincoln, MA Worcester, MA When I finish the Windham County, Vermont Census I probally will be adding more from MA, including Plymouth County. The town of Bridgewater will be a big job as it had over 800 families in 1790. I also have a few small towns from Maine that probally will go on one page. Five towns that together are about the size of Portland. To many things to do to decide which to do first. http://www.rays-place.com Ray Brown -- CT AHGP http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctahgp/ Berkshire County, MA Genealogy http://www.rootsweb.com/~maberksh/ Litchfield County CT AHGP website http://www.rootsweb.com/~ctlitch2/ Ray Brown's Place for New England Genealogy http://www.rays-place.com CT Photo Gallery http://www.state.ct.us/scripts/photo.asp ------------------------------------------------------------
GEorge, Have you tried asking the USPS? Since they had a post office there when you were young, maybe the post office that took over that area will have some info for you. Vicki
Hello Listers. I'm curious. I was brought up in the section of Westbrook known as Cumberland Mills. I have yet to find anyone who knows this sections boundaries. I have asked at city hall, and every old timer I've had contact with in recent months to no avail. Does anyone out there know what the boundary of Cumberland Mills is? Please let me know. I have old postcards that give the addresses as Cumberland Mills. I know, when I was young, we had a post office there. Thanks for your help...George Davis, Westbrook
Hi Listers, I am researching the Brown/ True families in North Yarmouth, Maine. Betty True married John Brown m. 1 Oct 1785. I have some of the children from this marriage and would like very much to compare notes with anyone who might be descended/ related to this couple. Hope SOMEONE has information about Brown/ True families in North Yarmouth about 1800.
