Surnames: Tolman, Hitchcock, Seabury Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JEB.2ACE/258 Message Board Post: Hi, Happy New Year - I'm looking to substantiate the birth of Adelaide Sumner Tolman, daugher of Reuben Tolman (of Sharon, Norfolk, MA) and Marilla Seabury (of Yarmouth, Cumberland, ME). Born 7 Nov 1854 (I believe in Yarmouth, ME... could be Sharon, MA but I found no evidence there) She later married George Angier Hitchcock of Yarmouth, however I'm looking for information linking Adelaide to her parents. She's the LAST missing link in this line of research. Any help you can offer would be terrific. THANKS! Kathy

This census indicated that he was born in Norway and immigrated to USA in 1907 and he was naturalized. I would recommend that you contact the NARA office in Waltham, MA about gettng copies of his naturalization papers. You may find his location of birth there. Good luck! http://www.archives.gov/facilities/ma/boston.html

    1. [MECUMBER] MALING Family
    2. N P Maling
    3. I'm new to this list, but not new to genealogy. I've been researching the Maling family in the United States for a number of years. There are several Maling families with origins in Maine. Mine, the "oldest" is the Cumberland County Malings. This family removed to Arundel/Kennebunkport in 1821 or so and later descendants migrated elsewhere, including back to Cumberland County. The next largest Maine Maling family is is from Penobscot County. They lived in Brewer and Bangor, with later generations scattering to Massachusetts, Oregon, and elsewhere. The third Maling family, from Bath, Sagadahoc County, didn't stay in Maine long enough to put down roots. They moved to the Boston, Massachusetts area. The Cumberland County and Penobscot County Malings are my primary focus families. The Penobscots I research for that family and correspond with that family's researcher. These families are also detailed on my web site, http://www.geocities.com/npmaling. I'm interested in corresponding with others researching these families and their relations. Thanks, N P Maling Seattle, King, Washington npmaling@zipcon.net http://www.geocities.com/npmaling
