    2. Hello, Regarding the 8 Shires in the early 1600's Virginia Colonies, they were: (1.) James City (2.) Henrico (3.) Charles City (4.) Elizabeth City (5.) Warrosquyoake, (which became Isle of Wight County in 1643) (6.) Charles River, (which became York County in 1643) (7.) Warwick River, (which became Warwick County in 1643) (8.)
