Hello. I am researching the Civil War regiment 4th Tennessee Cavalry (Union), and in Co C of that regiment there was a Captain DANIEL MEADOR. He was sworn in as Captain of the Company on Jan 1, 1863 at Louisville, KY. Later that year he died, on Aug 8, 1863, drowned in the Cumberland River near Nashville. I am trying to locate him in the 1850 and 1860 censuses for my regimental database. Since he was an officer, there is no descriptive card on the muster roll microfilm listing his place of birth. However, one of the death certificates states Louisville, KY, but that may be simply listing his place of enlistment. Any assistance in locating him would be appreciated. Many of the soldiers of Co C came from Campbell Co., TN, and I did find a possible match in that county in both 1850 and 1860, but the surname is "Meadow".
